For Mage: The Ascension being run by IXJac.
So yeah, create pages for your character. Or just link your userpage if you're lazy. Nobody cares.
Protagonists of Dirtfort
Active Cast
Cara Stang (Andronicus)
- Hermetic mage who's got an incurable case of vampire echoes. Really good at the whole mind control thing. Once stabbed a Master to death. Now has a Kana-approved eyepatch to go with the existing dominatrix look. Once "confused" by Derek Maxwell for a dominatrix nurse. Successfully mind controlled a senior Technocrat.
Catherine West (Norseman)
- A silly librarian who thinks she's from the Victorian era. Talks to trees (they talk back). Carries a revolver containing a good Victorian constable (spirit).
Christopher Westin (MJ12)
- An Entropy mage who has spent years and years of experience honing himself into a weapon of fate. Currently has vowed to dedicate mass carnage to Kratos instead of Ares, because the god of bloodshed isn't putting out. Maybe the god of massacres, jumping puzzles, and threesomes is a better choice. A big damn hero. Took unhealable paradox aggravated damage to protect Cara.
Derek Maxwell (OmegaPaladin)
- Former aspiring technocrat who now happily deviates reality. Operates out of a "Welcome to My Laboratory!" in Chicago. Cackles maniacally while operating a tunneling machine.
Ichijo Watanabe (Ezekiel)
- Genuine Japanese junior VA. Learning to hate Marauders. Unofficially apprenticed to Proteus.
Kanako Kuga (Maloncanth)
- A young Japanese-Canadian girl, Matter-centric mage, and Orphan who has difficulty relating to real life. Dirtfort's de facto talismancer. Her special ability is the Power to Cosplay. During the timeskip after the movie, Kanako created the talisman Raiment of Shamhat to go with her Wire Princess persona. A 3-month refit at Pharos has uprated her firepower to the level of a Mk1 Mari.
Marilia Caldwell (Silence)
- Fireball loli and sole heir to a Hermetic dynasty. Ozu-sama fangirl now! Resurrection count: 1 Fireball Count: Many
- Technically grounded from fighting the Ascension War.
Proteus v2.5 (Shrike)
- C3I for the chantry. Has recently consumed an energy field larger than his head and is groping towards just who and what Proteus v1.0 was. Wears the white hat.
Shu Izanagi (Kerrus)
- An assassin from the Meiji Era. Everything old is new again. Recently became the student of a kid he used to train.
Allies
Beta - Proteus' AI computer familiar. Called Beta-chan by Kana, an appellation which may be sticking. Like her master, she has no last name.
Pam - An innocent loli who Kana rescued from the insidious clutches of a Vancouver pedoring. Rather than being groomed for CP, now she is being indoctrinated into the cel-shaded paradigm. Recent episodes have increasingly emphasized her supernatural status. Her special ability is the inability to fail stealth rolls.
Kano - Former Yakuza midboss turned aspiring badass normal, now arguably definitely a genuine badass normal. He was, with some help from Kana, responsible for slaying the somewhat horrible Kang Zhang, a half Kuei-Ji half human dude mostly known as the man with the flaming hair. In the final episode of the arc, he joined Kana once again (this time with additional Proteus) and dealt the final blow to the more genuinely horrible Mister Lao. Kano managed to out-DPS Technocratic black helicopters against the enemy biomechanoid in Mage S3, further cementing his badassery.
- Yeah, man. What the fuck. Why the hell doesn't he have fangirls? M.M. 16:28, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- He needs a higher appearance, that's why. --MJ12 Commando 23:10, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
Ozu (Mari: Ozu-sama!) - The Japanese (Possible Ventrue) Kindred who was contesting with Kang for control of Vancouver. Part of the Camarilla, and possibly the Camarilla prince of Vancouver. Saved from death at the treacherous hands of Team Timeout by Team Fireball. An ally, if an untrustworthy and vampiric one, of the chantry. For the moment.
- How the heck's this guy a protagonist?! Are you guys dense?! --Suiren 9:09, 9 September 2009 (XST)
Casualties
James Reines (Shrike) - Void Engineer who got Nephandirized, bringing an end to Team Techno.
Marilia Caldwell (Silence) - Hermitic book loli of Team Fireball. Consumed by fire and paradox in an untimely botch while burning vampires. Currently not resting in peace. Alive again! And finally succeeded where she once failed!
Ren Dynler (Ralson) - Hermitic mage of Team Fireball who majored in Drinking and Driving. Consumed by fire and steel-beam-through-chest in glorious fashion while torching vampires. May he also rest in peace.
Reynolds (MJ12) - ItX traitor member of the shortlived Team Hacker with eight points in AAAA TECHNOCRACY. Killed by Contingent 10 and then baleeted himself. May he rest in peace.
Wilhelm Deimos (Ezekiel) - Anarchist Etherite. Destroyed by techno beamnuke fire during the disastrous awesome disastrome Shady Vale mission. May he rest in subatomic pieces.
Tia Mazu (Ent) - Hot Ninja Girl. Destroyed by techno beamnuke fire during the disastrous awesome disastrome Shady Vale mission. May she rest in subatomic pieces.
John Nightingale (Screwball)
- A buff action hero type from Val Verde. Currently MIA, might have moved on...TO THE NEPHANDI.
Vali Bartal (Ralson)
- Psycho werecat. Narrowly avoided death at the hands of a 300 Gigajoule plasma cannon and has a skull for a face now. Scary!
Cabal Cabal Cabal!
The teams of our glorious chantry.
Team Fireball - One of the dirtfort's two founding cabals. Its various line-ups have different names while remaining at the core Team Fireball always. Centered around the two original characters (One back from the dead) with various additions over the years. Team Fireball was formed by the unlikely junction of the apprentices of Master Hontanat and Master Caldwell. During a magickal dual, the Certamen, Edric Hontanat was blamed for the duel going wrong when Caldwells Locus overloaded killing Caldwell. Marilia Caldwell was protected by a rather chivalric VA from the resulting backlash when her shield failed while Ren's quick application of Ars Essentiae protected him. In the resulting confusion both Master Hontanat and Ren were quickly thrown into the dungeon of the Pharos as a dozen angry Hermetics gangpiled them. The huge and overweight Tytalus mage, and Chantry Master, Lucio Sao Salvadore with a voice to match his physical appearenced attempted to console Marilia but for obvious reasons quickly pushed her off to the nearest sympathetic female- the Certamen Marshal Laurel, a verbana witch, who noted that death was not the end and that there was ways to bring the dead back; perhaps with a powerful artifact linked to the deceased mage.
The Quaesitor Magistrati Josephine Mordant was called in from the Dolmen of Silence in order to investigate the apparent murder of Caldwell. Along with her came her assistant and apprentice Praetor Cara Stang. The Magistrati cleared Ren Dynler of any wrong doing by a application of Ars Mentis- sliding her sword up to the hilt in Ren's head and viewing his memories to determine his guilt. Happily this resulted in the House Jannissary Magus not having to perform his duties- the Quaesitors being the Inquisitors of the Order and the Janissaries the executioners. And so the boy was set at liberty... which he choose to use in order to free Hontanat from lockup. The entire affair came at a time of "decline" for the Chantry; in the last ten years the chantry changed its leader three times, a very high turn-over for a chantry, the mages either vanishing or simply finding a reason to leave. The unusual actions of both Caldwell and Noldos Vayne also stirred the suspicions of the Magistrati- why would the "the ever affable Master Caldwell challenge a firebrand like Hontanat to a duel?", does the fact Noldos Vayne was missing play any role in the mystery? The entire affair hinted at something more then just Hontanat murdering Caldwell. And so Mordant sent Cara to Caldwell's mansion at Cape Cod to attempt to delve up some clues.
"What in blazes are you doing back here? You're supposed to be working on my innocence, not dick waggling with some china doll!" The Ever so Eloquent Master Hontanat said as an opener to Ren and Marilia's visit after they both determined to seek out the real killer of Caldwell; one to clear his master and get him out of jail and the second to avenge her (formerly) only living family member. And so like the start of any quest they traveled to Cape Cod in order to gather clues and seek the truth. Already clues were provided in the form of a surprise visit by Master Noldos Vayne seeking a small clay jar, an artifact he'd leant to Caldwell, which was not present in the deceased Master's quarters. Very suspicious considering that Caldwell had gotten the Tass that killed him from Vayne. . . But as it wasn't physically delivered to Caldwell by Vayne no clear conclusion could be made.
Over the coming days Team Fireball was largely responsible for scooping Uncle Caldwell out of trouble, getting Hontanat out of jail, and torching over a hundred vampires in what could best be described as an accidental suicide bombing. Nevertheless, their final action entirely foiled a dangerous plot against the Pharos of Abkazia and the high enemy bodycount means Fireball is undoubtedly the most successful cabal to date. Their adventures have passed on into legend, along with most of the members. In between the passing of most of the original lineup the Team's only survivor, Cara, worked briefly in conjunction with Team Kungfu in order to track down Master Noldos Vayne. The cooperation saw the death of Vayne and the death of Lucius Andari by being impaled by wooden stakes and beheading. Concurrently with the progression of Team Kungfu's kuei-jin arc, Cara Stang managed to time out a master mage sometime last Thursday and managed to find Marilia's wraith as well.
This original line-up, along with new blood, served as a rallying point for a renewed Team Fireball. After Mari's return from the grave she remained in the Pharos with her uncle, to a somewhat frosty reception by the non-magi population since she was a 'graveborn child', while Catherine returned to her normal activities. Cara was assigned to return to the Pharos of Abkazia to check up on Vincent Caldwell's "latest mad scheme" and such she did. With Westin remaining Team Fireball formed yet another mutation. As Team Evil Cara Stang, Mari Cladwell and Westin united after Mari's return from the grave to travel to Winnipeg for adventure and the quest of ancient and powerful relic which pertains to the murder of of Hermetic Master Noldos Vayne, an associate of dear Uncle Cladwell, by Lucius Andari. In these endeavors Westin nearly managed to have the Team attacked by Chorister Slayettes after some mistimed words but irrevocably proved his heroism by the pursuit of a massassa responsible for missing girls. A panicked escape from a school, with the standard Team Fireball practice of trying to set a building on fire, avoidance of any conjunction with like minded Technocracts and the battle against the massassa which ultimately saw the vampire struck from the sky a bolt of lightning.
In episode 48, Team Fireball merged with half of Team Kungfu to form Team Girls. During the Chateau of Evil final episode Team Fireball (acting with the remains of Team Kungfu, to be the temporary Team Girl) burned down the third floor of a building full of KJ vampires and mooks. Massive death count. Afterwards the Team blinded and then burned to death three KJ in the cabin containing the Dragon Gate to Vancouver. After Kana killed the golden boy (who was trying to surrender be a chessmaster) and was subsequently cursed by the Karmic wheel the newcomer to Fireball, Catherine West, choose to investigate the curse. Cara Stang parleyed with Palden Lhamo, who had the obligation to inflict retribution upon Kana, under the Seal of the Heavens in her capacity as a Quaesitor (Hermetics having standing and influence with Umbra spirits/gods). Palden Lhamo accepted the parley and entered into Court with Cara as the robbed judge of Ma'ati and Cathy speaking as Kana's counsel.
Due to a compassionate plea by Cathy for compassion and a payment other then death and the acceptance by Kana the curse was transmuted to a "simple" geas. After the breakfast right after the Court the temporary Team Girls disbanded as Kana went off and Fireball (with Proteus) went off to the Red Dragon Dojo. In the course of the battle there an attempt to fireball Lao failed as the canny demon escaped, but the group managed to save Ozu from treachery at the hands of Team Timeout, kill Kang by empowering Ozu, setting him on fire by Mari, killing his spirit once and for all thanks to Cathy and her Victorian policemen possessed revolver. They also stopped Kang from opening his White Jade box, which would have fully restored him. Red May was killed at Cara's hands after she foolishly called the Quaesitor a bitch and swore to take revenge for Lus. Cathy saved Mari from horrible demon tentacle related death, after recently helping to bring Mari back from her first death.
With the other Cabal Team's essentially dissolved and the other members wandering off into downtime, Team Fireball (nee Team Evil) is enroute to Winnipeg to finish the Quest for the Crown of Gilgamesh. In the meantime Chris Westin after some detective work into the estate of the late Lucius Andari and the questioning of the captured massassa discovered that Tom Oneeagle snatched the crown during the looting of Andari's possessions. Upon discovering this the Team's muscle signed up on Tom Oneeagle plan to "purge" the city. And with some success as the corrupt police chief (in bed with the Syndicate, the massassas, the Nephendi and probably more according to Tom) was given good death by a round to the head (with some help from the IP) that even Ingram's static magic couldn't stop.
With the return of the rest of the team fresh from their experiences in putting Vancouver back in order Mari and Cara met with Tom to find that he had, indeed, completely changed under the influence of the Crown. Mari discovered that Tom was in alliance with werewolves, which generally the cabal hates, and were asked to deal with the Sabat problem in town who were running wild.
Team Hacker - A shortlived team composed of resident VA Proteus and formerly resident ItX renegade Reynolds. Soon after forming, they departed on an ill-thought out excursion to some island Technocracy base and routed in the face of holographic laser bears. Although they did confirm the presence of the Technocracy, they were detected and harried by a black helicopter, and an untimely botch lead them to almost certain doom. Reynolds sacrificed his chances for freedom saving Proteus from Technocratic bullets, and then killed again by Contingent 10, and then sacrificed his second existence as a ghost in the Digital Web to prevent the Technocracy from recovering any data. Though disbanded, they could be considered a valuable damcon bulkhead that prevented Reynolds' prodigious flaws from visiting the rest of the chantry membership. May now be seeing a revival of sorts, with the Proteus/Ichijo duo of Virtual Adepts.
Team Kungfu - The oldest cabal of the chantry, Team Kungfu was responsible for killing one very large vampire, preserving the marriageability of a loli and most recently, beating up random criminals. However, its primary mission so far has been to keep its default leader alive. Owing to a longstanding Kana-Tia dynamic, their missions and modus operandi are simplistic compared to the others and tends to devolve into a beeline to melee range. Through a combination of luck, timely assistance, and madness, managed to remain the only cabal in which no one has been killed. At one point, rumors had it that a Hollywood Gunman was about to join our Samurai Girl and Kungfu Maiden, threatening a rename from Team Kungfu to Team Action Genre. This, however, did not come to pass. After episode 48, the samurai girl half of Team Kungfu merged with the remains of Team Fireball, forming Team Girls, a team that went on to great success. The kungfu maiden half was absorbed into Team Flamesaw, which was promptly eliminated.
Team Girls - The fusion form of Team Fireball and Team Kungfu which appeared in the third episode of season 3. Quite appropriately, it contains most of the chantry's female membership. The team has proven highly capable in terms of teamwork, managing it to infiltrate a ski resort in relative safety and pass the stiff challenge of three kuei-jin opponents. With the passing of Team Flamesaw, Team Girls is now the cabal's only team.
Team Flamesaw - Notable for having a Werecheetah, a magic chainsaw, and a magic flamethrower between its two members, Flamesaw quickly became the team with the highest diceload in the entire chantry, though their shortcomings in other areas (such as stealth) were remarkable. Let's just say they had effective weaponry. Team Flamesaw was wiped out in episode 52.
Mage the Ascension S3
Team Chicago (Team Paradox?) - Consists of Westin, Cara, Mari, and Derek. Notable for a successful Technocratic Construct assault that started with infiltrating the FBI building with enough firepower to level it, and ended with the team gaining approximately 24 Paradox between them and their NPC buddies in one session. Successfully defeated a half-dozen MiBs, about a dozen Sleeper guards and staff, and a chaingun by the power of the God(s), sheer badassery, and a pair of anti-tank rockets.
Team Correspondence - A team-up of Proteus and the teenage Japanese cyberpunk Ichijo. The former got involved with investigating the unusual activities of the technos after stumbling across some internet ramblings of the latter. To the surprise of both, they ended up being witness a marauder and her bioroid powning HIT Marks and techno AMP suits. Afterwards she wanted the contents of Ichijo's brain so she could ID a Syndicate Man in White. Her attempt to kidnap (and probably brainsuck him) were foiled by Proteus and Team Japan. A couple days later, Proteus arrived in person and shmoozed his way into meeting a distracted Technocrat scientist and confirmed the connection. Right afterwards Team Correspondance teleported 700 kilometers in a luxury sedan and amidst explosions and badass technocrats with revolvers fighting another bioroid, found out that the marauder has a younger clone-sister in a bottle.
Team Japan - A Five-Man-Band consisting of Kana (hero), Pam (lancer), Kano (big guy), Shu (the kid), and Cathy (the chick). After a quick trip over the Pacific passing Chekhov's Trash Reef in the Nice Boat, Team Japan arrived in Japan in Yakuza style. After checking into an Imperial Hotel suite, Kana and Pam fished Shu out of trouble with a bunch of technocratic Chrononauts.
Honorable Mention
Team Techno - A primordial team of technocrats consisting of James Reines and some guy nobody remembers. James Reines was subsequently consumed by Nephandi, placing consensual participation firmly on the side of the Traditions.
Dirtfort Holdings
Dirtfort is a multi-tradition chantry based in the city of Vancouver. We value diversity, commitment, and moé.
Proteus' Pad - A 3-point node located in Proteus' apartment. All the tass it produces is consumed by Beta-chan.
Hasseltine House - A 4-point node controlled by Team Fireball.
A third node awakened by Kana is presently 1-point but growing slowly. Located in a condemned apartment.
The chantry also has about 4 dots in resources and a 60m yacht with a helipad.
It also has one ex-Technocratic pistol (X-5 with enhanced damage and -1 attack/damage difficulty).
NPCs
(Now divided into the two groups of Tradition Bigwigs, Technofags and then by city/region for ease of reference.
Tradition Bigwigs
Hermitics
Of the six members of Dirtfort surviving at the end of The Movie, half are from the Order of Hermes, including the core of the hallowed Team Fireball. As a result, the Hermitics probably have the most influence overall on the chantry's movements.
Lucio Sao Salvadore - HO CALDWELL. AND LITTLE MISS CALDWELL. Former Pharos of Abkazia Chantry Master. Replaced by Rachel Auriol.
Edric Hontanat. Ren Dynler's master. Eccentric.
Vincent Caldwell A Master of House Bonisagus and Mentor and uncle to Marilia Caldwell. Murdered during a magic dual, he was subsequently resurrected after his soul passed through the gauntlet during Team Fireball's first, confusing, mission. In cahoots with Noldos Vayne before Vayne's death.
Josephine Mordant - The Magistatus of Jove of House Quaesitor and Mentor to Cara, who swore her into the House, and the closest thing to family the Cabal's Quaesitor has. She gave a flower to Cara during her childhood after viewing her future. The flower allowed Cara to defeat the Wilder Luss, a far superior Mage. Supported Cara in the events involving Tom One-Eagle in Winnipeg with the Council.
Noldos Vayne - Poor fellow who lost his soul to Lucius in a partial embrace. Committed suicide in a last ditch spit in the face of Lucius while giving his location away to Cara via Hedge Magic. A confederate of Master Caldwell in researching the Crown of Gilgamesh, having seized it with Cladwell from a Iraqi partisan who was 'quite a killer of americans'. Had an apprentice that briefly was on the seen in Vancouver but vanished.
Rachel Auriol - Replaced Salvadore as Chantry Master of the Pharos of Abkazia. A Choristor brought in to bring some moral spine to the chantry due to a sense of the place becoming corrupt. Hundreds of years old, supposedly a former French nun, and big on the old rules. A Tradition traditionalist one might say.
Alexandra Solaimani A hermetic chick of some sort
Akashics
Influenced the cabal to the end of Season 2 - Tia was an Akashic; Kana had an Akashic weapon and is still the reincarnation of a major one.
Master Kenshin Takezo - Died to deliver Kana from Technocratic tentacles in an early episode. His influence lingered until the katana empowered by his Mikoto-the-Cat pin was destroyed.
Virtual Adepts
Contingent 10 - They don't fuck around.
Euthanatos
The Euthanatos has had a significant impact on both Team Fireball and recently Team Japan. With two of the cast being from this Tradition it is expected the Deathmages will have a interesting impact into the series.
Dimitri Sotiris - A member of the Chalice grooming Westin for promotion.
Nakazawa Takumi - Shu Izanagi's cabal shota a hundred and fifty years ago. He is now an old man and still stuck with his little kid name. Played Go with Miho once last century and got his ass kicked. Kicks modern Shu's ass at martial arts and beat Kana at Go.
- Kobayashi Masao - Proud 20-something mahjong hotshot. Proved not so hot a shot against Haruho Artaria-Jurai and her serial Rinshan Kaihou during the south round.
Adept Parvashita - A stern faced Indian (a REAL Indian) woman. Was present at Master Caldwell's "death" but vanished before Mordant could question her. Turned up at Cape Cod breaking into the Caldwell estate having suspected Master Caldwell was seeking to circumvent the Great Wheel. Pity she was nearly burned to death by Mari. Carried on Cara's back she survive due to the Cara's bravery in such (and Mari's first aide). Proved that turning into a cat like a snake doesn't help.
Kim Vachon- Euthanatos Master infiltrating Chicago Chinatown's Nephandi. Is not a ray of condensed sunshine. Loves onyx almost as much as Mari does. Probably has way more money than the entire chantry combined. Probably the hottest Master-level mage we've met so far.
Sons of Ether
Captain Percival Dory - The gentlemanly wooer of Catherine and also lent Kana his pocketknife. Recieved Edwardian schooling and has spent decades, not all that he actually lived, traveling all through the Ether.
Professor Konstantin Marakov - Specialist in psionics and artificial intelligence, and mentor to Derek. Cleared Derek's mind of Technocracy programming, and helped him get a start as a Scientist.
Technofags
Amy Lee - Woman in Black out to capture Kana. Last seen in the Spy's Demise Windy City, bending Akashics to her own ends.
Apthalon - ItX cyber-hunter, out to chase down renegades. Like Reynolds.
Nimrod - Even Kana would tell you the chantry lacks the genres necessary to manage a team of hardsuit girls. The team exchanged one lost hardsuit to 3 lost members of dirtfort, which may or may not be favourable depending on perspective.
White Coat - Some fuck in Japan. May be working on biomechabots. The target, or one of the targets, of Marauder-ko.
Dr. Asano - Head of a Syndicate-tied R&D/manufacturing company. Has android secretaries. App 5 mage.
Black Coat - Some midlevel MiB caught smuggling a bottle loli. Punches way over his magickal weight. Has a pistol that can shut down Correspondence effects within a wide tactical area.
John Kerrin - Syndicate VPO, formerly administrated Chicago Technocratic Ops. Was too busy making billions of dollars to really do more offensive action than troll Traditions webforums as "SugarDaddy$$". Sadly global economic downturns meant that he was replaced by...
Charles Starborn - Codename "Castar". Iterator who isn't too busy making money to blow up Traditions magi. Drinks coffee nonchalantly while chantries burn. Current progress in sabotaging Technocratic operations: 6 dead MiB (3 veteran), 1 senior operative, 1 combat operative, 1 heavily damaged Construct, and 1 valuable intelligence resource, and a whole lot of sleeper personnel.
Nameless Man In Black #610 - Badass Man in Black who stood in front of Westin emptying an entire magazine with only a cinematic scratch to show for it. Didn't help much though, because he ate a rocket to the face immediately after. However, he managed to sacrifice himself to keep his buddies alive from the rocket hit. May he rest in peace, as a worthy foe. Possibly caused Mari to botch as revenge from beyond the grave.
Winnipeg
Winnipeg's Vampires
Lucius Andari - A serious business vampire. His inability to keep up with Kana's torrent of fictional culture led to his downfall. Former Sabat Bishop of Winnipeg. After his final death his possessions were looted by various parties, including Tom One-Eagle.
Elvira - Lucius' former hench-bondage-vampire lady. Now a bishop of something or other. According to Filbert based under a Basilica.
Filbert - A vampire contact of some kind to Ozu. Somewhat crazy.... But being a insane Malkavian Kindred possessed a clearer understanding of the events happening in Winnipeg then anyone else at the time.
Indian Posse
Tom Oneeagle - A Dreamspeaker who contributed significantly to keeping Kana alive against Winnipeg's Vampires in S1, leading a clowncar full of Indians. As of the end of Season 2, Tom appeared to have gotten his hands on the Crown of Gilgamesh and may or may not be was definitely suffering some effects from it. During Mage: The Ascension: The Movie ~Curse of Gilgamesh~, he was shot in the head by a perfectly mundane bullet despite his phenomenal cosmic power due to mutually terrible magic rolls but was rescued by his werewolf buddy before the job could actually be finished. Now at large in northern Manitoba proving that in the World of Darkness, even Canada can have an insurgency. Now known to be attacking the oil pipelines in northern Alberta and Manitoba causing fuel shortages across North America.
Bobby - Some guy who got his neck snapped by Elvira. That bitch.
Izzy - A still-pimpled member of Indian Posse. Thinks he's all that with a butterfly knife. He and Kana found their worlds had little in common.
Wuff Brigade - There's like six of them. Sources say they do not fuck around either.
Other
Donald Ingram - A corrupt police chief in Winnipeg who was a willing lackey of the Camarilla, the Technocracy, and the Malfeans. At the behest of Tom Oneeagle, Westin helped plan an assassination against him, which was almost foiled by some angry Asian men looking for revenge against the Indian Posse. He was protected by some sort of evil magic (and not the True Magic kind) but Westin's marksmanship as well as his prayer for his speedy ascent to Acheron was more powerful than his eldritch protections, and hopefully will set the man free from his sins.
Vancouver
Vancouver Triads
Kang Tze-Kung - Kuei-jin. Definitely a Kuei-jin. Slain by Ozu in an epic brawl in the Dojo.
Kang Zhang - Kang's son. Dead by Kano's blade with an assist from Kana.
Mister Lao - A Kuei-jin. Was the Big Bad of Season 2. Had a Black Spiral ally who got roasted for his sins. Killed in triple combo attack by Kana, Proteus and Kano. Possibly had a man behind the man however.
Chiju - Overall leader of the Shady Vale kuei-jin base. Overcome by Tia after a bit of stumbling and had his place taken by "Tiachu".
Bao Zhi - Incredibly nasty sword kuei-jin. Cut in half by Vali after a 3-on-1 battle.
Xiumin - The third midboss. An ice lady in leathers dual wielding broadswords and with an uzi at her hip. Blinded by Cara and burned to ashes by Mari with Kana backing up.
"Jimmy Dean" + 4 - Sat around the garage and was responsible for the location's four chih-mei. Slain by Vali in a single blow. Vali also mostly slew the chih-mei in a single blow each, with the balance cleaned up via the team German's flamethrower.
Franky and Little Li - Troublemakers apparently. Cheaped out when Tiachu threw them to the chih-mei.
Hsing and Fu - Those Two Guys. Kidnapped Tia and led to this situation. About to face Team Girls, so one could argue that this section is Under Construction. Blinded by Cara, entrapped by chains, hacked and burned to death by Team Girl.
Feng - Last of the Mochinkans. Survived because he was on sentry duty. Should be thankful.
Team Timeout
Lussentelay - Skeletal and emaciated heroin addict infernalist mage who sold his soul. His arrogance at his own power and some timely help from both Marilia Caldwell's wraith and Josephine Mordant allowed Cara to take him down, bringing Team Fireball out of the nadir of its fortunes.
Red May - Appearance 5 Asian bondage lady with short cherry red hair and blue contacts. Unfortunately, Cara seems to hate her a lot, putting a damper on her prospects at becoming a Kana cosplay model. Possibly a Ghoul in bondage to Ozu. Slain at the final battle of RDJ by Cara.
Cathy - Black girl who goes out with a skinhead. Low self-esteem. Managed to quit the field with the wounded Sieg during the last battle.
Sieg - Skinhead who goes out with a black girl. A matter and mind mage, though a fairly shitty one. Was shot by one Cathy only to be saved by the other.
Other Fuckers
Ozu - A vampire and a Yakuza. Camarilla Prince of Vancouver. Is Kano's teacher. Just what he has at his disposal is uncertain though he was clearly losing to Kang before. As recent events unfolded, it rapidly became clear that he was at the extreme low end of the Conspiracy ladder. Object of infatuation to Dirtfort's resident fireball loli. Has not seen Gunslinger Girl.
Wang Jun - A Chinese arms dealer. Supplied guns to the Triads until he developed a severe case of Cheetahman.
Fat Freddy - Fat Freddy may be a reference to Fredek Bezelizin, a Russian gangster. Generally rather upscale, involved in gambling and laundering. No conflicts between him and the Tongs that you know of from the media reports.
Detective Nick Lomas - A detective who was onto Tia. Thought Kana was a harmless loli until she shot him from behind. Keikaku doori!
Leo Tarhal - Reborn Garou for the Glasswalkers and servant of the Wyrm. Excellent hacker, although not quite good enough to shake off Proteus. After being trapped in "real" space by Catherine, targeted by Proteus, fireballed by Mari his mind was cut apart by Cara in a challenge of wills that saw the brute broken and its secrets given up, cut short only by the coming arrival of fire engines. A lackey of Mister Lao.
Nyima Tempai - A Tibetan shota who was really an over 100 year old Kueijin. Apparently was a destined goodguy of some sort despite being a corrupted, purulent dick previously in league with a huge crime boss and subsequently in league with a servant of the Wyrm. Tried to play chessmaster with a mahjong player. However, Kana also activated his trap card.
Chicago
Japan
Arita - Manga girl.
Marauders
Lin Seigen - Leader of the Zollian Alliance.
Tokomandilin - A marauder stage boss. Quiet appears to be "I am Raven who stole the sun."

<MJ12> Well Norse, yes, I am fully aware that shooting a mage in the head multiple times before they can cast their spell is an effective countermagic method

<IxJac> OK, Mari gets. . . 8 successes
<IxJac> OK, if mari was down any WP, she regains it as she lectures MJ until his minutes run out on onyx
<Mari_chan> (and Cara laughed when Mari ordered that copy of Onyx quarterly)
<IxJac> Although you do see that he's trying to put the moves on you. Clumsily. That's a red tinge of lust there
<Cara> "... take you up on that. It gets rather... lonely staying in a hotel."
<IxJac> And it HAS been a while since you fed. . .
<Cara> Cara's a good girl. He'll make the first move! And when if fails she stops pretending. >:(
<IxJac> Sexual intimacy breaks down mental barriers, particularly in the untrained. . . if you can figure out how to get a sword into the sack. . .

<Cara> Derek knows the Cultists personally
<IxJac> Good guys. First thing they did when he joined the Cabal was get him totally stoned and have a threesome.
<IxJac> Cultists, y'know? Couldn't convince the Chorister though
<IXJac> OK, are you just blowing EVERYTHING up?
<Mari_chan> yes
<Mari_chan> everything
<@IXJac> "And to reach that Utopia," Siegen says, face alive with missionary zeal. "All this must be swept away, using the fire that first split the timelines!" And then a light brighter than any sun descends on the city, throwing all into stark relief, then wiping away even the shadows.
<@IXJac> He turns back to Maria. "You could be a uniquely useful asset - a woman from before the Timelines split, and one who I think undertands this great work. Yes a great asset. Will you join me?"
<@IXJac> And Cathy realizes what he is. This man is mad, and you are trapped in his madness. He is a Marauder.
<@IXJac> "Will you join me?" he says again. "Come fight for Utopia with the Zolian Alliance?"
<@IXJac> He holds out a hand, then frowns. His hypnotic speech halting. ". . . Did you know there's a badger stuck to your face?"
<@IXJac> "Now, we must continue where we left off." He raises a hand, and horrible clawed talons grow from his fingers.
<@IXJac> "No screaming?" he frowns. "I'm sure the lovely nurse down the hall would love to play too."
<@Proteus> "I'm not convinced of that"
<@Proteus> "Raven feathers are rather out of style"
<@IXJac> "You are no fun *at all*. Come on, just one scream. Or I start on you first."
<@Proteus> "Why don't you start on the power troops that the technocrats are sending here just for you?"
<@IXJac> "Hahaha," he cackles. "A fine jest, but there will be no-" The door crashes inward, and a sleek suit of armour stands backlit in the bright hallway lights, gaunlet levelled.
<@IXJac> Looks into the face of herself in a past life. Herself who is drawing a sword from out of the jacket she has tied to her back, as her partner - a younger Takezo Kanshin - does the same.
<@IXJac> "Die, Technocrat." They don't look like they're sitting down.
<@Focker> ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL
Chicago Suicide Mission
<IXJac> You guys can MAKE as many (molotov cocktails) as you like
<IXJac> Depends on how many you want to carry though
<Westin> I'm not carrying one
<Cara> Why not?
<IXJac> Because he doesn't want to go up in flames when he gets hit by a laser bear. ;)
<IXJac> You blow his head off, the body crashes back.
<IXJac> The second guard, blows a WP, and lunges furward and slaps the button
<IXJac> Primium bars shoot up from the floor, linking to the ceiling all around the entrance cage, and the security booth shutters slam shut
<IXJac> A panel in the ceiling snaps open, and a chaingun swings out
<IXJac> Alessio?
- Alessio swings out his special gift for the technos, an M72 LAW. "Go to HELL!"
- Alessio swings out his special gift for the technos, an M72 LAW. "Go to HELL!"
<IXJac> The rocket slams into the security shutters, blowing them open, and showering everyone with plaster
<IXJac> "OMG, OMG, they did something to Kevin." A woman screams. You can hear the man you attacked gagging with a death rattle
<IXJac> "It's like, some sort of gas!"
<Cara> Ars Mentis. 'Believe me.' "Goddamnit! You shoot at me BEFORE I could tell you we're evactuating the level! Gas HAS been released and it's effected the guys in the booth."
<IXJac> OK, Cara spins an illusion. "Alright! We're going!"
<Cara> "Great!"
<IXJac> Three people get up from the cubicles, "Take care of Kevin!" Says the woman to a hallucinary hazmat suit, and they run past Cara for the exit elevator
<IXJac> They pile in. Zavaros looks at you, then them as they run past, then as they pile into the elevator he glows with a faint burning aura, braces, and HADOKEN!
<IXJac> His punch smashes them hard into the wall, stunning them. he moves up, snags one of their pistols and methodically shoots each in the head, before tossing the pistol back on one of the mens bodies.
<Cara> "This isn't you. Let Noethung show you the true way, Adept Caldwell."
<Cara> WP. Cara's going to reach into Mari's mind and with a iron fist rip away the falseness, as the searing light of Sol strips the shadows from sight, leaving only the truth.
<IXJac> "NO! This is MY subject!"
(10:43:19 PM) Cara: "She belongs to the ORDER OF HERMES, CUR!"
<IXJac> OK, Cara, you batter into another mind, but throw his control back
(10:43:36 PM) Cara: Can I ATTACK that mind?
<IXJac> "And you are in MY Construct, Deviant. I'll make you pay!"
<IXJac> Well, so long as he keeps hanging out being snide, yes
(10:46:18 PM) ***Cara has Noethung out and without pausing from her earier mothing jabs it TOWARDS the source of her enemy, cutting across the false perception of distance into the pathetic light of her enemy's mind.
<IXJac> Security Supervisor Noetelli botches.
<IXJac> OK, Cara. Your sword strikes back down the link, through the construct, and into the mind of Security Supervisor Angelo Notelli
<IXJac> And you're in
<Cara> "YOU BELONG TO ME, TECHNOCRACT. YOUR CONSTRUCT IS FINISHED."
<IXJac> Anyway, Angelo is sitting at his desk co-ordinating the security response.
<Westin> (start *de*-coordinating the security response)
<Noetelli> Noetelli's going to tell AT-620 that the RD's have suffered a paradox backlash and are attempting to escape. Go up and get to the exit elevator ASAP and take care of them.
<IXJac> OK, AT-620 recently lost two MiBs, 623 'Eric' and 623 'Frank'. So they have a couple of new recruits. It makes sense to send them in first to get blooded. Notelli nods. It makes sense to him.
<IXJac> "AT-620, get your asses in gear!"
<IXJac> OK, the MiB's all pile into the elevator.
<IXJac> They're on the way up. . .
<Westin> "Genjo! Go over there on the side of the elevator, kill anyone who manages to survive!"
<Westin> "Alessio, with me! You rocket the thing, I spray the survivors."
<Westin> Westin's going to dump the entire X-6 magazine into the elevator as a spray
<Westin> "Ares! GOD OF BLOODSHED AND WAR! I dedicate this TO YOU!"
<IXJac> OK, the first MiB blocks his buddies and takes all the fire. Roll d6 for damage. Difficulty 4
<Westin> "Yeah, Ares? I didn't like you much too either."
<IXJac> The rounds bounce off his coat as he blocks the path, he takes a single cinematic scar down the cheek as a bullet nicks him in all the barrage. Your SMG clicks empty in a cloud of barrel smoke
- Alessio fires a rocket that screams through the air. David used a sling, Danny by the grace of God has better equipment that burns with righteous fury!
- Alessio fires a rocket that screams through the air. David used a sling, Danny by the grace of God has better equipment that burns with righteous fury!
<Alessio> "Indeed, God is Good!"
<IXJac> OK, the rocket hits the first MIB dead on
<IXJac> He blows a WP and 3 quint, and suicidally contains the blast in his body, the rocket blowing him back through the elevator and exploding inside his jacket.
<IXJac> The other MiBs are thrown back by the blast, but one's aroured jacket protects him, and the other takes light wounds
- Mari_chan decides that they need to quickly coup de gra (whatever) this before they become a threat and forces 4 the explosions into a pillar of of angry fire in the elevator

<IxBot> Mari_chan : ( 2 1 2 1 )
<IXJac> Noooooo!
<Westin> (Crank the despair up too, along with the aggression and crank reason down)
<Noetelli> Despair level Shinji Prime
<IXJac> Zavaros, meanwhile, has pulled a mask out of his pocket. As the door was melting through, he pulls it over his face. It looks, for all the world, like a Mexican Wrester's mask, painted with the horrific Oni designs of a Japanese Noh mask.
<IXJac> A his shirt has fallen open to reveal the writhing tiger tatoos on his chest and arms, and a dark red/black aura is rising and writhing from him, in a sense of growing power
<IXJac> OK, Zavaros is unleashing the full power of his Tiger Tattoos, and his Oni Mask
<IXJac> He's taking two actions with the power of the mask, the first is a flying kick at the door, to smach the half ton of metal right back in the face of the lead MiB
<IXJac> The Mib is going to abort and try and dodge
<IXJac> OK, he takes the door right in the face\
<IXJac> OK, that's. . . with everything. . . 16 points of damage
<IXJac> OK, no help, he's flies back and is squashed flat against the far wall
<IXJac> There's a black man strapped in a medical chair, and standing over him is a wild eyed man in a lab coat with a syringe! "Stop! Come any closer and I kill him!"
<IXJac> Genjo spends a WP and 3 quint
<IXJac> And he crosses the room in a blur. "What mon, wi THIS syringe? You mean the one I got?"
<IXJac> "Normally I'm about the mercy -" He looks at the haggard face of Ondayo. "But, phsyician, heal thyself"
<IXJac> And he jabs the doctor
<IXJac> The doctor screams and falls back, his skin blackening rapidly, his tongue swelling as he gaggs and his back archs

<IXJac> The Nephandi ARE the good guys
<IXJac> My finest moment was convincing one of the good characters to join the Nephandi because it was the right thing to do.
<IXJac> That was awesome
<IXJac> Unfortunately the lot of you are too evil for that to work.
<Andronicus> lol
<IXJac> OK, as Dynamic you must successfully change yourself or someone else
<Westin> what do you mean by "change yourself/someone else"?

Useful Stuff
Helpful Reminders
- DO enhance mundane rolls by stunting with magick.
- DO use mundane rituals to make magick rolls easier if you have the time to do so anyway.
Combat Maneuvers
All maneuvers are difficulty 6 unless specified otherwise.
Offensive
P185 Revised.
Clinch
- With a successful attack roll, the attacker grabs the target and begins to squeeze. First turn the attacker rolls damage (Strength). Each suceeding turn both attackers act according to initiative. Each combatant can either inflict damage automatically (roll soak normally) or attempt to break clinch. To escape, make a resisted Strength+Brawl roll.
Disarm
- Make a attack roll at difficulty penalty of 1 (typically 7). If successfull attacker rolls damage normally. If sux exceeds the defenders strength, the defender is disarmed.
Kick
- Dex+Brawl. Difficulty +1, Strength +1 (Bashing).
Multiple Opponents
- Characters fighting multiple opponents in close combat suffer cumulative attack and defense penalties of one per additional opponent (to a max of 4). I.e. John Courage fighting three Ninja hitmen at once suffers a difficulty penalty of 2 to all attack and defence rolls.
Strike
- Dex+Brawl. Difficulty Normal. Strength (Bashing).
Defensive
Block
- Dexterity + Brawl move to block an incoming hand-to-hand attack. Cannot be used on lethal or aggravated damage unless the character is wearing armor, using magic, or has some sort of special training (like say, Do).
Dodge
- Dexterity + Dodge roll to move out of the way of an attack. Cannot be used if there is no space to maneuver.
- Difficulty is usually 6 in close combat.
- Difficulty varies in ranged combat depending on cover.
- 4 for heavy cover (only very small portions of body exposed, like head or arm)
- 6 for medium cover (half body exposed)
- 8 for light cover (more than half body exposed)
- 9-10 for no cover at all (caught in the middle of an empty parking lot)
Parry
- Dexterity + Melee roll to parry attack. If enemy is attacking unarmed and character parries with weapon that deals lethal damage, enemy may be wounded by parry.
Desperate Defense
- The character gets his full defense pool against the first attack, then loses one die off of every subsequent defensive roll instead of normal multiple action rules.
Changing to a Defense
- The character can abandon any declared action to conduct a defense at a +1 difficulty.
