Polities:

Phoenix Empire: The largest, most powerful and oldest state in the Large Magellanic Cloud, its roots are in the first colony ship to arrive in the LMC from the chaos that was consuming the old Earth Empire. Its ability to generate stable interstellar wormholes via the ancient and arcane technology of the Star Forge has allowed it a firm grasp on internal lines of communication and moving forces that remains beyond the capabilities of its competitors.
Starforge - Empress Miziuru-Saria
The Jardin Republic: The second largest of the states, the health of the Republic has been in decline since the Guitler Plot which saw the Le'Reinne family take firm control of the First Minister position a century ago and make it by now a inherited position that runs over a weak and rump Parliament.
The Free Star League: A large confederation of states allied with each other in a defensive pact. However, the League is weak and has been losing its borders to Imperial, Republic and Reaver expansion - in both military conquest and outright willing annexation.
The Great Ark - General Fiona mac Rognvald
The Rifters: The other side of the Empire from Jardin and existing mostly beyond the Great Rift - a great nebula of opaque gas stretching across many ligh-years - they are seen as little more than barbarians held back by the Wall.
Brethren of the Void, the Black Harmony: Rifter's Rifters, paranoid exhumans.
Reavers: A heterogeneous mixture of pirates, mercenaries, rogues and zero-G dogs. Some are out solely for their own criminal profits, some are defectors, some are privateers for Imperial houses great or fallen, some are simply trying to live in freedom. All exist on the edges - or far outside - Imperial or Republican law.
Codomminium:

Organizations

Imperial Navy (The Fleet) - The Imperial Navy is a massive bureaucracy unto itself, filled primarily by warships and crews tithed (permanently, in the case of starships, not so permanently for individual crewmembers!) from both House Majors and House Minors. The Fleet is apolitical only in the sense that it is a political force unto itself the equal of any House Major.
  • Star Patrol
  • Battlefleet
  • Reserve Command
A Dragoonship of the Heartbreakers
Imperial Starforce
  • Emperor's Own - The Fleet is the main arm of decision of the Emperor, but the Emperor's Own is an elite, often specialized and highly irregular military force that he can call upon in a more timely manner.
  • Ducal Fleets (The Cavalry) - Each House Major maintains a number of warships outside of the control of the Fleet used both to augment military actions in their space or borders, to harass other House Majors (not that anyone would admit to this!) and generally to capture glory for young heirs; generally these warships are fast cruisers or battlecruisers.
Imperial Army
  • Garrison Command
  • Assault Command
  • Occupation Command
Imperial Guard
  • Black Berets
Ministry of Security
  • Imperial Marshals
  • Intelligence Agency
Imperial Bureaucracy
Duchies
  • Duchy of Starholm: (Revilla)
  • Duchy of The New Colonies (Al-Akbar)
  • Duchy of Vasudan (Wo)
  • Duchy of Armstrong (Hawkwood)
  • Rifter March: (Deliliac)
