PC concept overview
Post what you are thinking of playing here.
The aim will be to have 4-5 people per primary faction (PACT, EU, China+friends, ZOCU and the League), with a couple added spots for indies. This is to ensure player balance so all the big groups are adequately represented.
WS: Sandorn. Baseline resource colony that became independent through necessity during the Breakdown, and remained somewhat pro-core due to investment by the HEC for expansion of existing Helium extraction.
Peel: Minkowski. League, space-adapted extreme transhumans, distinctive gravitophobic religion and culture, touchy nationalists.
Fivemarks: Bilad Al-Rafigayn. League. Middle Eastern refugees who started anew, vowing to never again become the shithole that the middle east had become. Earthlike Planet. Giant Robots with Chemical guns. Very Expansionist. Have a somewhat bad name due to going to extremes to fight the magnates.
Ent: Valera. Transhuman Amazons by circumstance, some diplomatic focus, Indie/PACT/EU possible, though the last one may require some fluff changes. Also, Boobs! ^-^
Koffee: Corrigedor. Project New American Century
MJ12: Adhara. High-end transhumans + PACT = ?
Oseng: Garun. PACT or EU/Second Stage Colony - older, well developed colony, with close ties to several of the Core Worlds. People live in massive space colonies - system wealthy from mining etc.

MW: The Principality of Divine Providence is a religiously centered state that loves to solve technological problems and meddle in the dealings of others.
BM: The Daedalus Republic. A reformed state built on the remains of a shattered fleet and colony, its worlds covered in the wreckage of the old regime. Heavily militarized and espionage oriented, this regime jealously guards its new order against the chaos and instability of their scrap-scattered lands. (Still in development. Full Bio and Stats to come at a later time.)
Nasdaq: The Lazarus Federation is a multicultural federal constitutional republic based on the Terran Federation of the Starship Troopers novel. Colonized a series of moons orbiting the ringed gas giant Lazarus. Drop pods, power armor, and bugs, ho!

PACT
The Pacific-American Cooperation Treaty is an economy powerful but relatively loose associated that includes the United States of America, Japan and Brazil. They were a co-belligerent with the EU in the ZOCU war, though a lack of population support and security concerns such as feral drones kept them from prosecuting the war as aggressively as they might have.

EU
The European Union is overshadowed only by the PACT in economic strength, though the EU is the largest unitary economy in known space. National identities have slowly begun to be subsumed into a pan-European identity that supports inclusiveness and human rights. Unfortunately for transgenes, Stauss-Kaserist philosophy against rampant human augmentation took hold in the aftermath of the Crazy Years and the EU's firm stance is only beginning to relax.

China and Friends
The Dragon was finally rising in the middle of the 21st century, just in time for the Posthumans to start their own iterative ascendance. Coming primarily from the more open societies in the West, it is no surprise that those same societies took advantage of their technologies first. China was beaten to the stars by the EU and the proto-PACT. China's time came in the 22nd century, with their Treasure Ships ranging far and wide. For twenty years it was a golden age for China and there was talk of Pax Sinica by the end of the century. Then the Breakdown struck without warning, and the Chinese arm fell into tatters. Their immense Treasure Ships, triumphs of shipbuilding were stranded far from their destinations while the PACT and EU's old catapult network and merchant marines of small freighters was suddenly the new backbone of trade. Nonetheless, despite its travails, China and its allies are the third major Earth-based power block and stand next to the EU and the PACT as a great power.

ZOCU
Founded as a mutual-aid organization during the Breakdown, the Zodiac Outworlds Colony Union wielded some of the most advanced technology in the galaxy during its ultimately successful bid for independence and sovereignity. ZOCU is accomodating to most (to excess, some critics claim) and has a strong transgene population. Unfortunately, internal pressures between various factions have started to put stress on the union and few worlds escaped the war without significant incurred debt.

The Expanse League
A somewhat smaller assemblage of independent systems that fought together during the Magnate War. Having been somewhat further away from the Core Worlds than ZOCU, they ended up being ignored and in the aftermath of that war, quietly negotiated for a significant degree of autonomy. They do not have quite the array of advanced technologies of ZOCU, but conversely they are not labouring under post-war debt and limitations and mostly 'fly under the radar' of the superpowers. However that does not mean they don't have their own problems to deal with. The Magnates and worse lurk in the near Rim, on the League's doorstep.

Independent Worlds
A number of major worlds are considered 'independent', be it due to distance and apathy, prexisting political arrangements or wars of liberation. These are the wild cards in the Expanse, some wielding incredible technologies reverse-engineered from Posthuman constructs while others have amassed nearly Core World levels of industrial or military power.
