PACT
Van Lang
Originally hailed as proof that Vietnam had finally entered the galactic economy as a major player, the colonization of Van Lang has caused something of a predicament for Vietnam. Van Lang has its own distinct biosphere, with complex life having existed on the world's landmasses for approximately 700 million years, longer than Earth. While not (normally) actively toxic to Earth-derived life, in most cases the biochemistry was sufficiently different that no nourishment could be attained from it. It was found though that relatively simple genetic alterations would allow for digestion; while modifying livestock was acceptable, the increasing voices among the colonists who would prefer to better fit their world has ignited a storm of controversy over non-therapeutic alterations. So far, the relevant authorities have mostly ducked the issue by requiring overly-stringent testing.

ZOCU
Londinium
A lush garden world with a surface gravity of approximately 1.2 G, Londinium is the de facto capital and bureaucratic center of ZOCU, where most of the union's various agencies maintain their primary offices. One of the most populous worlds in the Expanse, Londinium has a minority transgene population that makes up much of the 'aristocracy' that is both a relic and contemporary expression of the original primarily-transgene settlement. The ratio of transgenes is steadily increasing as Londinium (like most ZOCU worlds) subsidizes the cost of genetic upgrades. This large, capable population also allowed Londinium to get an edge up on industrialization, and until recently was one of the few worlds in the Expanse capable of building large warships. Nonetheless, it remains an economically and scientifically important world.

League
Finnegan's Folley
Finnegan's Folley is aptly named and arguably the most unlucky world in the Sphere. A planet host to a particularly vicious biosphere, it was settled to get at the Theta dust in several posthuman constructs. Continued problems arose and the colony barely outputted enough Theta dust for a single cruiser a decade until the Breakdown and the Magnate invasion. The Magnates were well aware of the presence of the Theta dust on Finnegan's Folley and it was one of the first worlds attacked for this precious resource. The conflict was long and grinding, with the Magnates unable to pacify the world or meaningfully wear down the locals, though they soon were exporting Theta dust back to their homeworld. Eventually the Magnates were removed by League forces, and Folley put back into some semblance of shape, though to this day it remains a poor world with its primary export being a trickle of Theta dust for the League.
The decades-long warfare hardened the locals into, in the words of one League general, 'the hardest asses to ever ass hardly.' Finnegan's Folley secondary export is hardened fighters for the League.

Independent
SIYAN
SIYAN (conventionally written in all caps) is the nation of Erebus, a cold world being brought out of an 'icebox Earth' environmental scenario by local terraforming efforts. Originally settled by Pacific Rim transgenes, mostly from North America, the locals eventually uncovered some machinery that had not been completely shut down after the Posthumans' first wave of terraforming. This was a timely boon, and during the Breakdown SIYAN became one of the few worlds that could produce Theta drives. As the Pac-Am arm opened up again, SIYAN entered the war as a ZOCU co-belligerent, though it never officially joined the organization like a number of other breakaway colonies. It did however coordinate both military operations and technical developments. SIYAN has maintained a small yet worryingly effective military in the postwar, one that sits squarely on the primary Pac-Am route to the rim.
