Xia Yu Lan

Xia Yu Lan Is a tall Chinese woman with short dark hair, who dresses nondescriptly, favouring a hoody or cap. Yu Lan is attractive if you like scary and athletic martial arts girls.

Born in the lower class areas of Shanghai, Xia was always a tomboy and a fighter. At sixteen, while she was walking home from school she witnessed one of her friends being assaulted by a some local gangsters, and attempted to intervene, which predictably resulted in them being beaten up in turn. She might have died if not for the intervention of a strange old woman named Yang, who put the gangsters to flight and began to train Xia Yu Lan in how to defend herself properly. She trained with her new Sifu every day for almost five years, until one day, Yang sent her on an errand and when she returned she found the old woman dead, and her dojo in ruins from the fierce battle that took place there. Xia has vowed to take vengeance on whoever had killed her master, and salvaged what of Yang's library that she could, hoping to continue her training.

Xia believes that enlightenment and ascension can only come through struggle and violence. Only by contesting against the overarching power of the system and violent revolution can true enlightenment be gained.
