The world of Tyran is a desolate realm, over a dozen shattered megacities dominate a landscape of grey earth, patched with struggling greenery and dangerous ancient forests who bathe in the harsh light of the sun often obsured under horrendous storm clouds. The Federated Convoys are scattered across the supercontinent that still supports human life, wandering in vast Wagon-Trains whose aging systems provide life and protection in a dangerous world of feral creatures and radioactive rainstorms. The Vault Dwellers reside underground refusing to deal with the overground world, while in the ruined capital megacity of Constantos, something untoward is said to stalk the streets.

The rumors of the Night Stalker Initiative were discounted for many in the Capital Vault and ridiculed entirely by the ruling surfacers who lived in luxury in the shielded upper vault which towered over the ruined city. The legends however were quite true, an ancient house of the Tyran Imperium had experimented with vampirism as the godswar raged. They had hoped to build a retinue of immortal vampire soldiers from which they could claim power over the entire planet. As the planet fell, the surviving members of the household infected themselves and fled into the secret laboratories of the deep Vault.

More than three centuries ago they began to awake, sensing perhaps that enough mortals existed to sustain their appetite. They emerged slowly, their knowledge of the vaults systems allowing them free reign, secreting gaining the allegiance of the oppressed vault dwellers who were decided access to the upper vault. The Night Stalkers showed them proof of the surfacers luxurious lifestyles, the upper vault (which was actually the Imperial Capital Arcology) could clearly house tens of millions whilst the deep vault was already overcrowded with several million people cramped into a system designed for a third their number.

After securing their power and re-establishing an Imperial state, the vampires incorporated the human populace with surprising leniency, though the hundred thousand or so surfacers disappeared. The loyal deep vaulters were given citizenship and integrated into society.

Tyran is an old world with only one major nation, the Tyran Hegemon. The Hegemon is centred on a single city, a metropolis ancient and sprawling, the city of Tyrus. A true mega city that reaches into the sky, claws into the ground and bloats into it's surroundings. A swollen bustling sea of humanity whose masters were and are a fusion of man and the other. The Striga.

The city is truly quite old, almost as old as the ruins it was built upon and it's architecture compromises styles from a dozen periods but is dominated by gothic, neo-gothic, cyber-baroque and cyber-gothic styles. Grand arches buttress streets piled atop another, ancient warrens with narrow streets duck under maglev lines. Old gothic catherdrals decorated with images of ancient otherworldly beings lurk in the gloom cast by megatowers stretching into the sky. It is a living beast whose tendrils stretch, greedily gorging on resources and people to keep its bloated streets functioning.
::While those on Tyran call them vampires, Tyrusians refer to themselves as immortals.

::Immortals are roughly human in appearance, with white marble skin and blood red eyes. They posses only hair on their heads, a stark white and possess sharp clawed fingers. Though many apt a more human appearance in order to ::blend with populations. Central to the immortals is the Veneration of the Blood, it is not merely a dietary requirement, it is a compulsion and key to their mystical existence. A Immortal denied blood who cannot enter ::torpor regresses into an animal, losing much of it’s humanoid appearance and sustaining itself on any mortal food source. Blood teems with mystical energies not perceptible to humans, but keenly felt by immortals which gives ::them their immortality and toughness. Modern immortals are sustained mostly on blood obtained from meatsacks, engineered human tissue with little brain activity grown and stored in vast arrays of tanks. This provides a basic level of sustinence, but blood from a living thinking human is more much potent and believed to be a key to unlocking even more secrets of vampirism.

::Immortals are created by infecting a human with the vampiric virus. In preparation for the coming war, millions of vampires were created from humans, putting pressure on society to acquire more humans to serve the lower roles in society. The relationship between maker and made is akin to that of a parent and child. Immortals generally lack the sexual drive of mortals, but find implications of improper behavior between maker and made rather repugnant.
+
Of the two hundred million who call the city home, the majority live in the inner districts, insulated from the outlands by a massive ancient fortification. For those in the outlying districts, only a sea of robotic turrets protects them from the horrors that lurk in the polluted outlands.

:Humans
+
It is a cosmopolitian nation welcoming of others and whilst the Striga consider themselves better than humans, they do no regard humanity as mere food.
::Humans are in fact a minority, with only 8 million of them left. This dwindling population, a result of uplift and accidental outbreaks of vampirism is a primary motivator for acquiring more subjects. Humans are generally free agents if they submit to the blood oath but this freedom is limited. They are all subject to conscription and summary uplift on the order of a Lord. Many serve in the military as drivers and pilots and occasionally as infantry. Over the centuries, they have been completely indoctrinated with the idea that vampires are beings to be revered and most yearn for uplift.

::Humans are generally treated well, with many opportunities to rise through society, though most posts require being a supplicant to the blood oath. The most promising humans of each generation usually find themselves uplifted in order to preserve their talent for the ages.

Tyran is also well known for it's use of industrialised biotechnology and genetic engineering. Elite Striga combat units wear what is known as ghoul armor, regenerating biological armor that interfaces with their supernaturally enchanced physiology, a product of the Aima Corporation Applied Biology Division. Ghoul armor is haunting living creature, heavily modified from it's mysterious origins and intermingled with other more mysterious genetic material, it is the ultimate servitor race.

Tyrusans speak a evolved mix of latin and greek, recognisable to some in the region. Particularly educated Tyrusans may be fluent in both ancient latin and ancient greek, capable of conversing with the papacy and samothracians. This can lead to confusion, for the Empire is the 'Imperium of Tyranorum' made up of Tyrusans, with the capital of Tyrapolis.

Tyran is a quasi-feudal society, based upon the ancient Imperium of Tyran which spanned several stars and was a vassalised state of the Exalters. During their re-emergence, several different groups arose, who organised themselves into houses and began the first bloodlines of which their are 12, 4 major bloodlines and 8 minor ones. All vampires trace their lineage to the original 12. Humans are generally free agents who are entitled certain rights guaranteed by the Emperor himself.

Tyran is a plutocratic society. The nobility has organised themselves into houses as is typical in vampiric society. Humans are generally free agents who are entitled certain rights guaranteed once guranteed by the Republic, now guranteed by the Emperor himself.

 +
Neo-Feudalism places a stratified order upon society, in which positions, titles and privileges are earned or lost. Of particular note is a human who pledges themselves to a vampire in order to be sired. Traditionally, one is sired to a high ranking member of a recognised 'House' and becomes a low ranking member of that household. This web of obligations is what ties members of a house together, ties houses together into blocs and ultimately the nation together as most House leaders owe the Emperor significant loyalty and patronage.

'''Ancient World''<br>
+
There is fierce competition for promising humans and soldiers, as each House vies to strengthen it's position. Any human who shows particular promise can expect to be headhunted and offered immortality in exchange for loyalty and service to a vampire house.
''The name of the world is lost to time, many call it Vy'nez, mispropriating the name of the star for the planet. Tyrusans generally refer to their world as Tyran, making little distinction between their city, nation and planet. The world is old and covered in the ruins of at least twelve sprawling megacities, remnents of a Exalter client state to which the Tyrusans claim successorship.''

'''Martial Society'''<br>
+
Much of society still revolves around the Arena. Many titles and positions of a military nature can only be attained if a house demonstrates sufficient strength via it's champions.
''Tyrusan society places a emphasis of martial prowess, many civilians are trained at a basic level warfare and entertainment frequently involves non-lethal wargames. Many aspire to better their social standing through a military career.''

==Disadvantages==
+
====Do Tyrasans eat people?====

 +
The relationship between vampires and humans is symbiotic. In exchange for willingly providing blood, humans are entitled to certain rights and benefits. Access to housing, healthcare and higher education is dependent upon your blood oath, as are certain jobs. One off contributions are usually given a energy credit payment.

====Ghoul Armor====

'''Nuke Free Zone'''<br>

Tyran is perhaps most famous for it's 'Ghoul' Symbiotic Armor System. Whilst Tyran does not believe in ubiquitous biotechnology, it has particular expertise in genetic manipulation. Ghoul armor is essentially a heavily modified 'clone' of vampiric tissue (completely humane) equipped to function as a armored suit and provides excellent synergy with a natural vampires abilities. Or so they claim, nobody has actually verified what Ghoul armor actually is.
Tyusans fear the power of highly destructive devices....

Tyran can hardly be described as having a functioning capitalist economy, while the command economy provides for the people, there is a steady undercurrent of tolerated corruption that limits future economic potential.

Tyrusans despite being inherantly magical, cannot actually practice it themselves. The immortal mystic essense that flows through them consumes all magical energies.

Society

Tyran is a plutocratic society. The nobility has organised themselves into houses as is typical in vampiric society. Humans are generally free agents who are entitled certain rights guaranteed once guranteed by the Republic, now guranteed by the Emperor himself.

There is fierce competition for promising humans and soldiers, as each House vies to strengthen it's position. Any human who shows particular promise can expect to be headhunted and offered immortality in exchange for loyalty and service to a vampire house.

Much of society still revolves around the Arena. Many titles and positions of a military nature can only be attained if a house demonstrates sufficient strength via it's champions.

Do Tyrasans eat people?

The relationship between vampires and humans is symbiotic. In exchange for willingly providing blood, humans are entitled to certain rights and benefits. Access to housing, healthcare and higher education is dependent upon your blood oath, as are certain jobs. One off contributions are usually given a energy credit payment.

Ghoul Armor

Tyran is perhaps most famous for it's 'Ghoul' Symbiotic Armor System. Whilst Tyran does not believe in ubiquitous biotechnology, it has particular expertise in genetic manipulation. Ghoul armor is essentially a heavily modified 'clone' of vampiric tissue (completely humane) equipped to function as a armored suit and provides excellent synergy with a natural vampires abilities. Or so they claim, nobody has actually verified what Ghoul armor actually is.

Characters of Tyran

Vix Constans

Navarchos of the Imperial Astro Navos
Vix Constans turned down the chance to serve as a Consul and head of her household in order to serve in the Astro Navos. In a service usually populated mostly by humans, she nevertheless proved herself adaptable to the rigours of

space and as a vampire, rose through the ranks as her vast experience solidified into a enduring advantage.

Climate

Tyran is a generally temperate world slowly cooling, significant volcanic activity in the form of springs and gesyers warm many areas. It's heavily polluted as toxic sludge from the city is dumped without regard outside the walls. It's forests have been dying out for a century, replaced by toxic mushroom fields and bacterial sludge lakes.
