It all started six months ago, in a late summer visit to Camp Hero Park on Long Island. You stayed there overnight, far from the lights of New York City and the greater BosWash corridor to watch the anticipated superflare arrive and send aurora borealis all the way this far south. And it did not disappoint. At the time, the St Elmo's fire on the old preserved radio antenna just seemed like part of the whole natural show.
Now, you realize that's when your life started to go strange. Weird dreams, inexplicable urges, odd bouts of what you've dismissed as coincidence. But now, in the middle of a cold winter, you can't dismiss it anymore. Something is calling you back.
Back to Montauk.
