Tensor Industries
Tensor Industries is one of the megacorporations of the human sphere, with major offices and complexes spread across the Expanse. Originally founded on Earth and focussing on exporting to the core worlds, pro-business grants and favorable taxation saw them move their HQ to Albion in 2140. This led to a change in clientele and over the succeeding decades Tensor preferentially targeted the Expanse, cementing their position as the flagship megacorp in the Expanse.
Like all megacorps, Tensor is built on the conglomerate model, though given that Tensor remains in the hands of the original founding family, the term Zaibatsu may be more appropriate. Each 'Line', or subsidiary, is virtually independent, though they have defined economic-industrial spheres and inter-line cooperation is encouraged.
Tensor Industries Departments
Tensor 1st Line
Specializes in consumer and civilian products, up to and including interstellar freighters. The 1st Line has major complexes on Albion and Londonium, driving much of the traffic through these systems.
Tensor 2nd Line
Specializes in bio-, info- and nano-tech. Manufactures bioroids and androids and is also a strong player in trangenic organisms for terraforming. Out of Tensor's primary departments, the 2nd has been facing stiff competition from smaller, dedicaded terraforming companies operating under ZOCU charter. The 2nd Line's HQ is on Valera.
Tensor 3rd Line
Specializes in military aerospace and warcraft. The infamous Typhoon strike cruiser is a flagship product. The primary Tensor shipyard and the 3rd Line HQ is found in Vantar, with additional assembly facilities in Hauss and Agaea.
Tensor 4th Line
Specializes in ground combat arms, ranging from infantry weapons to orbital denial munitions. The 4th line is relatively decentralized, with major assembly plants on Haraway, Ithaca, Levant, Lost Ground and Adhara.
Tensor 5th Line
Specializes in advanced concepts and fundamental R&D. Does not market any mass-produced products in specific but pools resources with other departments. The 5th Line's HQ is in Erebus.
Tensor Equity & Finance
The so-called 'Tensor Bank', TE&F has become a significant (though not dominant) player in the Expanse's economic landscape, providing services ranging from banking to mortgage to venture capital to debt financing.
