Sword of Bhavatārini (Talisman 5)

A old black scimitar with an eternal sheen, the surface that rippling with dynamic potential. Those who look within see their moral failures reflected within the blade, but also the potential for the restoration of their karma.

The sword was made within the sanctums of an old Kali devotional cult that revered her as Bhavatārini, or the "redeemer of the universe". The sword was at first used to hunt demons that scoured the countryside, especially the pretas that would rise from uncremated corpses. When mystics all over India began to feel the lure of dark powers and became devils themselves, forsaking the dharma of caretakers over the spiritual welfare of the land, this blade was used to give them baptisms of fire that would send them on the road to recovering their karma.

The blade ignites the flesh of the unwholesome and dissolves them into ash so that the wielder need never become exposed to substances of lesser ritual purity. It radiates virtue, protecting the minds and bodies of wielders from being tainted by blasphemous magics. As Kali is also Parvati, the mother goddess, her sword can strike those who should live to a sleep from which they can awaken. The blade requires only proper reverence and adherence to a wholesome lifestyle, although the memory of many killings and the fierce nature of the goddess of death sometimes compels her sword to be drawn and to slay those need the Good Death.

Magical Bow Porn

Compound Bow: Min. Str 3, Damage +3d, Range 180, Weight 15 lbs

Also known as a wheel bow or torque bow, compound bows use pulley systems and modern composites to greatly increase draw strength without the same physical strength. Generally found in the ownership of small game hunters and archery hobbiyists.

Arrows

Bodkin: +0L
Broadhead: +2L, double armored soak, inflicts 1L/minute bleeding if the damage dice inflict net successes versus soak. Called shots to vulnerable areas can raise the bleeding period to 1L/round.
Blunt: +0B, -1 damage difficulty to
Flaming: +1L, sets targets on fire. Arrows made from modified flares probably use similar statlines.
Grenades: +0L/0B, +2 difficulty to shoot without aiming, inflicts damage as a grenade separately of arrow damage. The lethal version can penetrate and stick to targets. Grenades probably have 50-75% damage and/or AoE of normal, depending on type.
Poisoned: +0L, inflicts a poison of choice if the damage dice inflict net successes versus soak that must be resisted separately.
Target: -1L, -1 difficulty to hit. Designed for shooting at targets, obviously.

Upgrades

Archer's Ring: Allows for easier pulling on drawstrings. Takes no penalty for shooting without aiming (or effectively, drawing on the bow and releasing in the same round).
Archery Gauntlet: Protects the user's hands from chafing strings. Botches with non-explosive or flaming arrows do not harm the user (although the bow itself can be damaged by improper usage).
Collapsible: Allows a bow to be folded up at the cost of weakening the draw properties, giving a conceal of J but -1 damage. A more expensive version doesn't have the damage penalty.
Power Upgrade: Increasing tension boost draw strength for more damage. Raises Min Strength by 1 but damage increased by 1 as well, while increasing the size slightly. An Str 5 Composite bow probably looks absurd in public and could never be concealed short of folding it and hiding it in a guitar case.
Scope: Yes, you can get one for a bow too. +2 dice from aiming instead of 1, maxes at +3 the next round. Some of these have fancy high-tech optics.
