Cutlass
A cutlass is a broad-bladed, somewhat curved slash-and-chop weapon and is a the default favourite of pirates everywhere as it is both a useful tool as well as a weapon.
Scimitar
The scimitar has a narrower blade than the cutlass and a more noticeable curvature. While not all-around as utilitarian as a cutlass, the scimitar does have a deadly slashing cut and is thus a dangerous weapon to face. Plus it looks so much more elegant than its rather clunkier brother.
Rapier
The rapier is a relatively fast and light cut-and-thrust weapon, though with more thrust than cut.
Longsword
Dagger
Axe
Firearms
Piratejammer firearms are comparable to guns from the 16th-17th centuries. Loading one is a complex procedure involving both powder and shot of variable quality that is usually not practical in the heat of close combat.
Pistol
The most common types of pistol use some kind of flint mechanism to ignite an alchemical powder which then shoots a lead ball. It is a single shot weapon which can be pulled and fired quickly but takes considerable time to reload. That said, it presents a big advantage in the opening seconds of a fight.
Arquebus
Can be in either matchlock or self-igniting form, the latter of which is much more expensive.
