Concept

Panetto is a posthuman gynoid, found abandoned in a skyfall amidst the wreckage of a starship of relatively obscure make in the clothes of a domestic robot. Still functional, most of her memories had been erased and her body was in shambles, requiring extensive repairs. The scavenger team that found her sold her to a group of enterprising fabricators who managed to repair her. In the process, they discovered the remarkable device concealed inside of her, a universal constructor that could seemingly produce endless nanomachines for fabrication jobs- but inexplicably locked to only manufacture foodstuffs.

Over the years she spent in their service as a domestic and prize of sorts, they successfully hacked coding and produced interface machines that could siphon off her body's nanomachines and put them to other purposes- potentially terraforming or even weaponized applications. They would never enjoy the opportunity, with the entire company killed by competitors not weeks after by a rival group. With everyone she'd ever known dead, Panetto stole their cargo skiff and fled into the night.

Prowling along the skyfalls and Watertown under the assumed identity of a human food merchant to avoid being attacked by those same people and living in fear of discovery as an android- no better than property. She could quietly enjoy the little moments along the way, but had resigned herself to eventually being caught by the same people that had taken her first home. When she was finally discovered, a mysterious scavenger came to her aid and fended them off, and convinced her to stop running and join them exploring the graveyard to find others like herself.
