The ‘garden city’ of Mohenjo-Daro sits at the convergence of the Warad and Lilat rivers on the Southern coast of the Great Niyan Plain. A Wood node under the delta, joined with the meeting of the two greatest rivers of Lemuria, has created one of the richest areas of farmland in the civilised world, and trade income to match. This wealth also supports a vast population, both of native beastmen (primarily Leonids, with Zealtran and Plinui minorities) and of humans that have migrated to escape recent and ancient upheavals in Babel.

The city is ruled by King Thera III, a Leonid whose grandfather seized control in the anarchic period following the war. His power is absolute, maintained by his charismatic and capricious personality, his prodigious martial and magical powers, and the ‘Lion King’s Eye’ he has inherited from his lineage.

Of late the city has greeted an influx of nobles fleeing Babel. They are lobbying Thera to invade and restore Carloman to the throne, but while the mage-king has expanded his army since the revolution, those familiar with him know that he will only take action for his own reasons and on his own schedule.
