Long Live the Queen: Places
Main Locations
Nova Royal Palace
Located on the north bank of the Dilles, the Nova Royal Palace is an immense marble structure that acts as the center of governance for all of Nafréce. It is separated into the East Wing, dedicated to the royal household, and its adjoining gardens; and the West Wing, dedicated to governance. In between them is the main courtyard (called the Long Courtyard) and the Great Gallery which forms an immense facade facing the river.
Ayles Basilica
Ayles Basilica is located a short distance north of the Nova Royal Palace and is the tallest building in the capitol. It is the seat of the archbishop of Lyseille and traditionally the place of worship and coronation for Nafrisian monarchs.
The Bastion
The Bastion proper is a fortress located at the intersection of the medieval walls of Lyseille and Bastion Bridge, once the only river crossing since ancient times. It is currently used as a prison.
Old Summer Palace
Nafréce
Lyseille
The capitol of Nafréce and its largest city, extending on both banks of the Dilles river.
Greenmark
A region east of Lyseille covering the coast of the Green Sea. Formerly a duchy (the title of which still remains), it is now divided into three provinces.
Saneilles
A duchy of some autonomy in the far southwest of the country. It is the most (relatively) recent addition to Nafréce having once been an Saracen emirate like Aliabard. Some people there still view Nafrisians as invaders.
Remille
A domain in the south that extends across the south of the country between Saneilles and Dolet. It has a large Saracen population and maintains or allows the observance some of their old laws and traditions.
Dolet
The largest duchy in Nafréce which occupies the southeastern part of the country. It borders on both Aliabard and Euterpe as well as a portion of Edelfelt territory and as such is the last duchy with military responsibilities.
