Jupiter City
Jupiter Urbis Ascendancy
Jupiter is a country dominated by it's capital, the worlds first megacity, over half the populance live within the urban zone defined as Jupiter City, with another quarter living in it's satellite cities. A overindustrialised nation, it is beginning to strain with the effects of it's rapid and often times destructive march towards 'progress'. Ruled in theory between it's Vampire overlords and it's elected representatives, Jupiter is a controversial nation known for it's vast populance of ghouls, humans supplemented with vampire blood. Indeed, the fact that the stipend is availiable only to those in Jupiter City has fueled its growth to the detriment of other urban centres.
Jupiter City
There's only one show in town and that's Jupiter City. Formely known as Aacheron it was renamed after the Vampires took over and built Central Jupiter over what was once a vast central parkland. Now it's a teeming metropolis of uprecendented proportions, a modern cityscape built since the end of the war over a decade ago, financed by the accumulated wealth of immortals.
With a population of over twenty million, Jupiter City is broadly divided into three zones.
Central Jove
This is where the hustle and bustle of modern life really dazzles, skyscrapers built of modern steel claim the sky, challenging the heavens with feats of engineering. Skytrams link the city in a tight web of public transport, swinging the populance from classy jazz halls to upmarket emporiums. Futuristic Art Deco is the rule here, statues tower over plaza's, domineering and creatively showing the dominance of modern man over nature. Skyscrapers tease with unusual curves and arches, eagery feeding each other through skyways and vast interior antriums.
The House of Ministry lies here, a tall imposing skyscaper, part palace and part seat of Government.
The skytram network is augmented by the highrail trains which run from central jove to outer jove and beyond, jovians never fully embracing the modern age of the automobile, showing a quaint love of the locomotive and public transport.
The Skyways are the automated transport system of the future, whisking citizens from building to building without the unwelcome glow of the sun.
Inner Jove
Inner Jove is the old city, where the quiet city is overshadowed by the new city highrails. Medieval churches and fortifications mix with newer renaissance age buildings, a twisting combination of ironwork and mortar. It lacks the frantic pace of Central Jove, with quieter streets interrupted only by passing trains and automobiles screaming along the raised autoways.
Outer Jove
The lure of Jupiter City is great and Outer Jove forms vast estates of cheap housing, built by factory owners and even cheaper housing built by residents, as the rural populance flocks to the city. Vast slums have grown, ramshackle buildings competing for space, often built one atop the other. Scavengers are also attracted here, surrounding the junkyards and landfills with their houses, eager to pick what they can from the vast amount of materialist driven garbage that arrives daily.
