Jane's 'Weapons of the Galaxy' is a comprehensible list of the various arms and armaments used by various polities in the known galaxy. It features exclusively on small arms, munitions and infantry equipment with ocassional features on large weapon systems.

Resolution Seven Four Nine and Resolution One Five Two (subsection A) both provide the requirement to develop a sublethal and lethal option weapon for use in article 9 (subsection B) engagements up to article 11 engagements. A tendering process was derived by the External Security Initiative Committee's subcommittee with Special Remit for Procurement and established the Solutions Protocol Board for the design of a tactical humanoid ergonomic combat interface particle beam weapon. Accessed by the Commmitee for Procurement Efficiency most of the requirements suggested by the military were thrown out on cost grounds and what was left was a functional rifle that does it's job but little more.

'The only frill this weapon has is the sheen of 'calming' blue paintjob, this weapon is rugged, not entirely comfortable, basic but dependable.'
