Magical

Silfurskina

(10 Point Wonder) This is said to be one of the legendary armours forged by Volsung smith himself. It received its name due to the rings of the mail being so polished and light that they gleam like silver. It appears initially as a very well made Dark Age suit of chainmail with a vaguely Roman style helmet, though with a silver facemask. The armour is light and easy to wear, but more so it causes no movement penalties, nor does it obscure your sight or hearing. Best of all it provides exemplary protection from injury both material and spiritual, even if you should fight one of the fell beasts of the world.

Physical Description

Guy de Champignac is 6'2" and built like a brick shithouse, with looks like the nastiest biker you ever saw. He is also dark haired, dark eyed, and with what seems like a perpetual five o'clock shadow. He tends to wear a large crucifix over either military style uniforms or white clothes, for the time being he has given up his medieval robes but much prefer those in private.

Mentor (Father William)

Father William is a rather prestigious Celestial Chorus scholar, he is also a devout Catholic tirelessly penning letters, tracts, and books that seek to explain and promote the truth of Catholicism. Unfortunately for him he also speaks medieval French and has a great, in-depth knowledge of medieval society. That meant that this bookish Chorister was given the task of educating Guy de Champignac, an attempt that has not been entirely successful. When asked about his student he has a sad tendency to answer, "Lord have mercy! What has he done? Did he kill someone?" Though perhaps coaxing it in more diplomatic language.

History

Guy de Champignac was born in 1202 as one of the younger sons of the Count of Champignac, located in northern France. As a child he loved the rough and tumble games of youth, and was known for his great size and prowess. Ever he dreamed of glory and of greatness, to be a great knight admired by all, and to crush the enemies of the king, or God, or whatever lord he served. From his religious mother he learned that salvation came through service to God, with that in mind he came to worry about his own rather robust physical desires.

In the end he chose to combine his love of fighting with the desire to earn favour with God, by joining the Knights Templar and going out to the Holy Land to help fight against the wicked Saracen. Once there he became known for his prowess and accomplishments in battle, so much so that he came to the attention of the secret masters of the Templars. Without him noticing it they began to groom him to become one of the great warrior knights for Christ.

Alas those plans were thwarted in 1232, stationed out at the fortress of Safita they began to hear strange news of jinn or fairy; which depended on who told the story. Perhaps little would have come of this if not for the fact that one of the Templar clerics, known for his piety and visions, fell down during mass. In a fit he cried out that whomsoever could slay the champion of the wicked lady, the descendant of Lillith, he would be able to save the Templars from a great peril.

At once Guy de Champignac swore himself to this quest and along with a small group of other Templars he headed out to find and defeat this foe. Soon they found a group of tents all made from white silk with gold embroideries. There stood a lady more beautiful than any they had seen before, even her servants were better dressed than many a noble. By her side stood a frightful looking champion dressed in gleaming silver armour.

Fearlessly they challenged him to battle. One by one four great templar knights were cut down by the champion, as even their greatest blows could not pierce his armour. Despite this Guy de Champignac was not a coward, he stepped forward and felt a great fury fill him, and let him strike such a blow that the fairy knight fell to the ground. Then Guy leapt onto the fallen knight, stabbing him through the eye slit and slaying him.

Yet as he stripped the knight of his armour the wicked lady cried out, "You shall not have much luck with that armour! For seven hundred and seventy seven years you shall sleep beneath the ground." With that the ground opened and Guy fell into a crevice. Yet none of her servants dared to remove his armour, so the lady had to satisfy herself with a templar banner as a trophy.

As the earth closed over him he did indeed sleep, but he had strange and terrible dreams. The lands above him were covered in blood time and time again, only the names of the fighters changed. Then one day a group of Hezbollah fighters began to dig a tunnel on just the right, or the wrong, spot.

Needless to say none of them survived. Indeed the sheer level of damage was enough to require the Israeli foreign minister to strenuously protest that Israel had not been bombing the area, and that it was probably the result of an ammunition dump going off. Given that this would involve several large ammunition dumps spontaneously going off in sequence this explanation was not generally accepted.

After waking up Guy was shocked to see how people use magical chariots, magical scrying mirrors, speak into magical shells that let them contact the whole world, and many other fell heresies! It was probably for the best that he stumbled into the Choristers when he did, or who knows what could have happened.

Having recruited him they tried to get Father William to act as his mentor, this was only partially successful in containing his rather enthusiastic solutions to every problem.
