Premise

It is the very day the Jade Prison has been shattered when a group of Dragonblooded friends are plucked from their pampered lives and sent off to newly-formed Shinku Peninsula in the Northern Threshold. They will oversee the construction and development of a new city in the name of the Realm in this remote region, the fortunes and future of a settlement thrust upon them.

Houserules

  • Artifacts: All non-magitech weapon and armor artifacts get minor useful powers for free. Jade is especially known for having minor elemental powers like being able to start fires, seal wounds, move dirt more quickly and purify water with a touch.
    • In general, the effect should add no more than 1 ability or 2 specialty dice (in a specific context), as Exceptional gear.
  • Backstory: In addition to the Chargen bonuses bellow, a comprehensive backstory that relates to your Motivation and Intimacies grants an extra 5 XP.
    • Integrating with another player or two is really what I'm looking for. If you're all rich dumb jerks together, it makes sense that you'd all be sent off to the same place.
  • Breeding: Breeding functions as normal, however there are a number of risky or time-intensive ways to increase it without charms. Legendary Breeding is banned.
    • Achieving the capstone of a Celestial Dragon style such as Air Dragon or Fire Dragon (or filling out the tree if it has multiple such charms) allows the character to raise their Breeding over its initial rating with XP.
  • Chargen: Use Dynast chargen rules. No Lookshy Dragonblooded or outcaste.
  • Craft: Craft is now treated as Linguistics, with each Craft skill granting a character another Craft ability.
    • Even at Craft 0, a character has one Craft skill they can roll unskilled, just from being familiar with furniture (Wood) from your old job, being able to make passable stew (Water) or doodling on your desk a lot (Air). A character with Craft 5 has at least 6 craft fields, therefore.
    • Esoteric crafts (Magitech, Genesis, Fate, Gossamer) obviously cannot be taken unskilled.
    • Specialties may give the character extra competencies, just as with Linguistics.
  • Intimacies: All characters begin with half of their maximum intimacies filled, minimum.
  • Motivations: Please be something that can be accomplished, and fits in the context of your intimacies.
  • Warstriders: Use this fix.
    • No, you can't have one at chargen.

Shinku Peninsula

The Shinku Peninsula as an administrative region recently created on the southern coast of the Northern lands, surrounded by the low hills of the Black Crag mountains and a dense boreal forest of pine, fir and cedar. The lands are barren but ripe for farming of hardy wheat, barley and other plants that do not do well in richer soils of the Blessed Isle and Eastern tributaries. The lands have an abundance of gemstones such as emerald, rubies and fossilized coral, as well as many metals useful for forging for forging. Whale are common off the coast, and the fishing is abundant (though schools have been disrupted by the geological shift and may require greater care).

It also did not exist six months ago, but was created by the eruption of the nearby Mt Angae and an earthquake that displaced a large amount of mineral-rich, but barren land in a mountainous region of the northern coast.
