Doing nearly everything requires money and industry. However, actually making things requires Resources. Resources are divided into two categories: General Resources and Specialized resources. General resources are generally obtained in bulk quantities and used for production and support. Specialized Resources let you do things, or sometimes make something easier - they are about capabilities.

General Resources

Every unit has a cost in General Resources to build.

Common Metals
  • Cost paid for all use of Industry
Rare Metals
  • Cost for building Tier 2 and Tier 3 units.
  • May be used to pay for modifications
Terraforming Volatiles
  • Required for terraforming. 1 unit per world for maintenance, 4 for progression toward a habitable world.
Rare Gases
  • May be used to pay for modifications
Radioactives
  • Fission Pile vessels require one unit of radioactives each year for every X weight of ships
Helium-3
  • Each unit of Helium-3 represents sufficient fuel for X weight of ships in active deployment or 10X weight of ships on normal patrol operations
Antimatter
  • Each unit of antimatter represents sufficient antimatter to allow for 4X weight of ships in active deployment or 40X weight of ships on normal patrol operations to operate with Prometheus performance
  • For Annihilator warships, Antimatter acts like Helium-3


Specialized Resources

Typically one for escorts or fighters, 2 for cruisers, 3 for capships, 4 for supercaps.

Fenreerium
  • Required for A-drives and Fold-drives
  • Required for Hardening against extraordinary phenomena
Dilithium
  • Required to make use of Overboost construction
  • Increases jump distance
Delta Dust
  • Required for FTL communication - QECs, Relay Buoys, etc
  • Reduces Research costs
  • Required for Fold Drives
Theta Dust
  • Required for Tachyon technology
  • Required for Tachyonic Hyperdrives
Iotimoline
  • Required for transformation / combining technology such as variable fighters
  • Required for Dimensional Harmonic technology
Hyperglions
  • Required for Aleph units
Adamantium
  • Allows Adamantium Armor
