Cyphelism: Rejecting Reality

“Man has long be able to free himself from the tyranny of the law of other men. It is time he free's himself from the tyranny of the laws of nature itself.”

Central Tenets

Reality is consumed by limits and the laws of the physical.
The laws of reality distort the rational mind and limit it's perspectives
By abandoning the primacy of reality and embracing virtuality, you embrace true freedom of thought and expression.
Never forgot reality, for therein lies the root of sentience.

History

Post-Physical Transcendentalism, Post-physicalism or Cyphelism, was founded by Dr. Alexi Cyphel in the 2190s after he was forcibly uploaded along with the rest of the New Archangel colony by posthuman machinery. Immensely popular within the colony, it remained a tightly controlled movement, under the watchful auspices of it's founder, though since the end of the breakdown, it had found favour across the galaxy though hardly as widespread as some other movements. Many accuse it of having ulterior motives and questionable methods.

Beliefs

Cyphelism is broadly considered a form of Post-physicalism philosophy and vehemently denies being a religious movement.

Cyphelism believe in the transcendence to a virtual existence, uploading themselves as digital constructs into servers where each is given free reign to construct their own reality, or consent with others for a shared consentual reality. In some ways, it is the ulimate express of libertarianism and freedom, rejecting nearly all forms of control upon a person's desires or thoughts.

It rejects the primacy of reality, the world existing outside their computational servers as a limited venue for consciousness, one is which the mind is tortured by dreams and thoughts that are unable to be realised. Although it recognises reality as a useful and important scientific phenomena, one to be exploited and utilised, it regard it much as normal humanity regards virtual reality software, as a tool and means to an end.

It embraces the virtual, where the mind is ruler, where thoughts are given free reign to shape as they desire, where the petty limits of physics are reduced to a minimum.

Why Cyphelism, Why Not Post-human?

When asked why they do not promote uploading to post-humanity, Cyphelian post-physicals state that post-human servers are a unknown entity and is it not a given that they offer the same freedom of thought that they offer, for all that is known, the posthuman servers could harbour anything and that there is no proof they even work anymore.
