Born to a family of Marines, Conrad was the ugly duckling. Socially awkward and in horrible physical condition, but possessing a mind for books, he clearly wasn't going to carry on the family tradition. While his family was still loving, he always wished he could be something more. He excelled in school, and he headed off to college. In a physics lecture, a crazed student burst in wielding a gun. He reacted instantly, telling people to get in cover while diving behind a desk. With strength he had never had before, he sent his pocketknife flying through the air with lethal velocity. The shooter fell with a slashed throat, and a new Nova was born.
Conrad enlisted immediately, and the USMC found him an ideal Marine. He completed the special Nova boot camp, and became a member of the USMC's lead Nova element. He was not interested in holding a high command position out of the field. . He's a decent guy, built like a Abrams with tanned skin and dark brown hair in a Marine cut. He's eager to serve his country and deal with threats to the US and the world as a whole, especially without the crazy publicity of Team Tomorrow. His hatred of the media was not something anyone wanted in public.
