Slavery

  • 1) The very concept of slavery is abhorrent to your nation, and you will make every effort to stamp it out.
  • 5) Slavery is the natural order of things - to the victors go the spoils!

Piracy

  • 1) You actively crusade around hunting pirates even when they don't directly threaten you.
  • 2) You don't use privateers and don't like the idea.
  • 3) You have no opinion
  • 4) You make use of privateers from time to time.
  • 5) You actively support all forms and provide a haven

Honor

  • 1) You find the very concept of honor and fair play to be abhorrent on a philosophical level. Those fools.
  • 5) Your word is your life. You would die before breaking it.

Personal Liberty

  • 1) People are meant to be cogs in the national machine; giving them freedom of choic will only bring ruin. They must be brought to heed.
  • 5) You consistently intervene when possible for humanitarian issues, and will always make it a big concern.

Social Hierarchy

  • 1) Anyone can make something of themselves, and this opportunity should be open to everyone in the galaxy.
  • 5) Your position is determined by immutable laws that cannot and will not ever change.

Xenophobia

  • 1) Your people don't bat an eye at strangeness, accepting even the wierdest at face value.
  • 2) Your world is cosmopolitan, with many visitors from the greater galaxy.
  • 5) Those not of your nation are different, and not to be trusted. Keep an eye on them at all times.

Environmentalism

  • 1) There is nothing in the universe that is not a resource to be consumed and discarded.
  • 2) You will only pay lip service to the environment when it concerns a vanity project.
  • 3) Environmental concerns are just one of many and of no special priority.
  • 4) The environment has its own intrinsic value; you honestly strive to tread lightly, but will not make the truly hard sacrifices.
  • 5) Humans and other intelligent beings are but one part of a vast web; those who upset the natural cycles are the enemies of all life.
