Concept

A game involving aliens coming to Earth to steal various stuff and get rich quick. Alien types are varied, just assume near-human cognition so this doesn't get too weird.

You have a spaceship you fly in.

Chargen

You pick your alien Phenotype and Raison d'Etre, and assign 18 points. Each alien gets a single 'power' keyed to their highest attribute (pick one in a tie) that allows them do to various things humans cannot. Assume your outfit is made of space latex or powered armor (cloth is lostech in the various alien polities).

Phenotype

Each Phenotype has an inherent power that doesn't count towards the one granted for free.

  • Gibbering, possibly a worm that walks or a shoggoth. Your structural properties allow you to bypass many obstacles, and you have several inherent environmental immunities.
  • Monstrous, huge, possibly bipedal but maybe a really big spherical cat. You intimidate opponents naturally and can no-sell attacks made outside of initiative.
  • Socialite, humanoid (is that even a proper term?) and probably kind of sexy for some reason. You can calm people as long as initiative hasn't be rolled yet and easily disguise yourself as a human as well as speak their languages, use their devices and generally get around, no roll necessary.
  • Robutt, you are a machine made by a race that you killed en-mass or are now emancipated from, or maybe you're a servant of one of the other crew members. You can access the internet all the time and have similar immunities as a Gibbering phenotype.

Raison d'Etre

Each Raison d'Etre is a roleplay cue. The GM may oblige you to act accordingly to your archetype in exchange for a free Fate Point (you can refuse, but who refuses fate points?).

  • Adventure, space is dangerous and that makes it exciting. Get +1 Finesse
  • Babes, you are horrible. Get +1 Power.
  • Faith, humans need salvation via your weird universalist space religion. +1 Integrity.
  • Knowledge, you want to understand these strange hu'mans. Get +1 Intellect.
  • Prestige, you want to be remembered as an expedition member who went somewhere dangerous. Get +1 Charisma.
  • Wealth, you think Earth is the location of Gatlantis and want to strike it rich. Get +1 Perception.

Attributes

Oh man, it's like we've already used this exact attribute setup before. Attributes cap at 10.

  • Power, physical offense and feats of raw strength or endurance.
  • Finesse, physical defense and also feats of athleticism involving movement or precision.
  • Charisma, social offense and also looking good (and helping others do the same) whether it's a performance, clothes or even a well-written letter.
  • Integrity, social defense and resisting the influence of various incredibly strong human intoxicants.
  • Perception, mental offense and reacting to things.
  • Intellect, mental defense and knowledge.
