The Second Battle of Sweetwater was a naval battle of the Long War between ships of the Free Star League Navies led by Captain-General Gadsen and the [] Long Range LMC Expedition, lasting from the 5th to the 12th of January 5323 AE in the Sweetwater System.

In sharp contrast to the uncoordinated raid on Luxor, the Ur-Real at Sweetwater fought their Planetoids in mutually supportive groups of three with the clear object of claiming the Great Ark. The initial clash resulted in the loss of the Second Core when the crew of the SRANS New Jersey self-destructed in a heroic last-ditch effort to prevent Ur-Real warriors from capturing the ship.

The battle was a resounding if bloody victory for Captain-General Gadsen and the ideal of strong Federal Navy, but not without consequences. The destruction of the Second Core further complicated the renewed League's already troubled relations with the Jardin Republic.
