The World

New Mercia is a cold world with a single inhabited continent mostly covered with psuedo-coniferous forest in the equatorial regions, and glaciated over most of its surface. The habitable area is bisected roughly east-west by a large mountain range that splits in two at the eastern edge of the continent, forming a large, roughly triangular plateau between two smaller ranges. Both the north and the south boast arcologies, with the south being more or less loyal to the current government, and the north - formerly the Federal Republic of Albion - rather more restive. The plateau is a restricted military zone, owing to persistent contamination by biowarfare agents, and all argologies in the area have been evacuated or destroyed.
