The Provident Royal Commonwealth of the United Transeisdzarian & Saka Nations, informally the Transeisdzarian Commonwealth (also referred to as the Kingdom of the Rift or the Commonwealth), is a sovereign state of the Small Magellanic Cloud. Its territorial space encompasses the majority of the known settled space of the Great Rift and beyond, bordering the Phoenix Empire along the coreward limits of the nebula and the CoDominium at the terminus of the Negev-Ruhazani lines. The Commonwealth is the fourth-largest state of the Small Magellanic Cloud.
Its government is described as a federal union with a common monarch. The Official and Royal Capital is the system of Concordia's March, with the warship SMS Mikado serving as the auxiliary administrative and legislative seat. The current monarchs since 29 February 5323 - coinciding with the ratification of the February Constitution - are the twin Shahzadas Ardeshir and Saki, though their powers have been assumed by a Regency Council headed by their mother Ravshana Marika al-Lasalle until the end of their minority. The Commonwealth consists of over two hundred autocephalous constellations in the Metropolitan Rift as well as a number of Crownland prefectures, direct administrative dependencies, along the Negev-Ruhazani lines.
Etymology & Terminology
The February Constitution declared the Constellations of the
Prior to unification the collective region was commonly referred to as the "Great Rift" or "Rift". Both are synonymous with the Transeisdzarian Commonwealth in general usage. The adjective Rifter is commonly used to describe matters related to the Commonwealth and is used even in official language to refer to Commonwealth citizenship.
History
Settlement
Settlement of the Transeisdzarian region has been dated back to the first millennium A.E. from which emerged the Constellations of the Great Rift. The Constellations maintained loose association with each other and attempted to resolve international disputes through assemblies known as Things.
Contact with the Phoenix Empire
Contact with the Phoenix Empire began sometime in 3000 A.E. [Possible Hrang led invasion of PE?]. The erection of the Wall, a series of intensive fortifications along the lines leading to Transeisdzaria, attempted to control the flow of migrants and adventurers leaving the official boundaries of the Phoenix Empire.

The February Constitution authorized the activation of two services the Regular and Royal Cosmoforce and the Thematic Cosmoforce. The M.i.S. War Office oversees and manages all military activity, which are controlled by the Kosmoglavnyschtab. Due to the double demands of mass emigration and the pressing demands of reconstruction the Grand Sejm limited the annual intake of recruits into the Cosmoforces to .25% of the population in the immediate quarter and .5% in the next five years. However the mobilization rate is expected to rise to .75% over the course of the next decade as the demographic situation stabilizes.
In the first months following the ratification of the February Constitution the Commonwealth had inherited the surviving formations of the Rifter Constellations and the feudal levy of the Kingdom of the Rift. As an interim measure the Grand Sejm issued the 5323 Cosmoforce Law permitting the M.i.S. War Office to amalgamate all standing units into a Provisional Cosmoforce. The War Office earmarked many units and picked personnel to form the basis for the R.a.R. Cosmoforce.
The disastrous performance of the Provisional Cosmoforce in the Baal War exposed the . Staff studies highlighted the
General Cosmostaff
The Transeisdzarian General Cosmostaff (Kosmoglavnyshtab) is the full-time body responsible for all aspects of mobilization and campaign. The current Grand Domestic of the Cosmoforces is Field Marshal Trinary Wise Celerity, a native born Rifter.
Regular and Royal Cosmoforce
The Regular and Royal Cosmoforce is the Common army of the . Units are graded in three echelons: Old, Middle, and Young. Regiments in the Young Echelon are first line combat ready at any time with all equipment. Middle and Old Echelon R.a.R. units are skeleton or cadre groups ready to be expanded to full strength.
Pasdaran
The Pasdaran (translated: Guard) is the honor title given to any Cosmoforce unit which has at any point assumed the responsibility of directly guarding the Grand Sejm and the person of the Shahzadas. The Pasdaran predates both the short lived Kingdom of the Rift and the R.a.R. Cosmoforce, originating in the duty details of the Lasalle Brigade assigned to protect Prince Hiroshi St. Rong ar-Phoenicia. Despite their ceremonial appearance the Pasdaran are operationally ready, all weapons are live.
Pasradan regiments detach a battalion or squadron for .
Normally a select few R.a.R. Regiments of the Young echelon provide the Pasdaran in a regular rotation.
- The Shahzada's Own XXV Sipahis
- The Shahdokht's Own LXIInd Hussars
- The Sehzade's Own LX Chevaux-légers Lanciers
However in principle any Commonwealth unit can provide the Pasdaran.
Pasradan Regiments are authorized a fifth battalion or squadron.

Standards & Colours
By regulation Cosmoforce Regiments are permitted only two colors without special dispensation. They are 97 x 117 cm, mounted on a lance almost three meters long, either hoisted vertically along the stave or draped from a horizontal crossbar. The borders and trim are dictated by their unit type. Silk or self-healing fabrics are used. Each Squadron or Battalion carries two:
- The Commonwealth or Shah's Colours are double sided. On the obverse is the Commonwealth Starburst. On the reverse is either the Simurgh with the symbols of Constellations arranged in Corona or a portrait of the Uncrowned King with a Halo mounted on a warhorse and the Peacock Angel over His head on a blue field.
- The Regimental Colour is normally a single color, usually from the Regiment's uniform, with the unit's insignia either at the center or any of the four corners. Unlike the Shah's Colors these may be freely embellished with battle honors and antecedent symbols with the permission of the Shahzadas.
The regulations for Ensigns, Jacks, Pennons, Guidons, and other Vexilloids are much more lenient than they are for Standards. Units may fly original designs, pending a Commissariat review, so long as it contains any two of six Commonwealth elements: the Starburst, the Uncrowned King, the Blue Field, Peacock Angel, and Simurgh.
