Background

The daughters of a minor mage, Jessica and her twin sister Sarah were apprenticed to a middling prominent English mage in their youth. Unfortunately the mage that they were apprenticed to was thought to hold certain magical secrets and was killed along with nearly of his apprentices, including Sarah. Said twin has returned to haunt Jessica as a wraith which has driven her to the study of spiritualism, even as the mage who killed her master continues to hunt for Jessica – the last living apprentice. Mother died of cancer, father died in car crash. Currently lives with/under guardianship of her father's much older sister who she doesn't really have a close relationship with. (they basically ignore one another as much as possible.)
