Sphere 2 Ideas:

Cyberpunky world with large megacity...based over a lake, in the midst of a large alien jungle.

Colony Base:
Early National (+ 100 CIP)
Cyphe-55 was settled under the banner of Japanese government, though it was mostly a corporate venture.

Initial Pop:
Dominantly Transgene (+ 40 transgene)
A robust augmentation programme was implemented to ensure a continued high tech workforce as well as to test the latest models of genetic and cybernetic augmentation.

Planet:
Fascinating Pharmaceuticals (+ 100 Wealth, + 1 SP)
Cyphe-55 is home to biota that offers to revolutionise neurological sciences and man-machine interfaces.

History 1:
Transgene Migration (+ 20 transgene, + 60 population, + 1 SP)
The open-door policy towards transgene migration and a high tech jobs market encouraged settlers from many areas of the world to settle on Cyphe-55.

History 2:
Transgene Migration (+ 20 transgene, + 60 population, + 1 SP)
Further migration waves also occured as the industries of the planet continued to focus on a demand for the best minds and 'test' subjects.

Breakdown:
Broken-down (+30 SP, +100 Dust, Go to D3)
Contact with the outside world become patchy during the breakdown, Cyphel was fortunate to have access to a small amount of Theta dust from a deep jungle posthuman site which it used to keep contact with the outside world.

Breakdown Response:
Theta Hub (+ 200 theta, + 100 wealth, - 100 dust)
While posthuman research was restricted to a few minor subsidiaries, it proved a boon during the breakdown.

Politics:
Phezzan (+ Intelligence, + Secrets, + Infiltration, + all relations, - military)
The Consortium isn't above bribery and industrial espionage to gain an advantage in foreign markets.

Economy:

Military:
Corporate Security (+ 60 Population, + 100 CIP, ++ ARROWS relations, + 30 SP, - 5,000 military)
A population geared towards science and engineering does not lend itself to military service.

The Zhinra Consortium is a colony on the world of Cyphel. Initially founded as a Japanese national colony, subsequent waves of immigration have erased the majority of any national identity. The world was sponsered by a powerful transnational interested in the unique ecology of the planet.

Cyphel is one of the few worlds to have a original ecology, the planet receives an abundance of solar insurance, resulting in white pigment plants forced to bounce much of it back to space, the landscape is dominated by radiation resistance trees that rise hundreds of meters skyward, with huge stiff leaves that leave much of the forest in permanent shade.

This canopy consumes the vast majority of light, leaving the underbrush reliant on parasitic species feeding off the trees and their biological waste. The harsh climate which while moisture laden, eventually kills off even the hardiest leaves and they are frequently replaced, the old leaves falling to the ground where they provide much of the decaying matter that fuels the undergrowth as well as temporarily allowing light to reach down into the under-canopy. Bioluminscence is common in the under-canopy, the animals and plants constantly evolving forms of it in response to selective pressures, prey using it as communication, plants using it to attract predators who will spread their pollen and eventually predators to attract prey, mimic prey or communicate in the darkness.

With a wide temperature range, rainfall levels are considerable, during the night rains are quite common as cooling air leads to cooling water.

The City of Zhrina itself is located over a saline sea devoid of any indigenous life, anoxic conditions persist and appear to of originated due to algae blooms occuring several hundred years ago. Protected by a enormous solar shade of ultra-thin refraction sheets, a bustling mega-metropolis has arisen that has all but consumed the visible surface of the sea, under successive waves of urbanisation. Home to roughly 40 million permanent residents, is it one of the larger concentrations of humanity in the galaxy, the majority of whom find employment in one of the multitude of corporations based on the planet, scientific and engineering are the primary employers, as the Consortium is geared towards the exploitation of the forest resources for use in genetic and cybernetic augmentation and in robotic development.

Despite being a hive of corporate activity, many of the corporations are not publicly traded and appear to of been slowly bought out by a group of secretive investors, insulating the planet from foreign political influence. The planet is run by the Zhinra Consortium, made up of representatives of each corporation on the world, as well as several associations representing the unions. The balance of power is precariously balanced, political squabbles between the powerful unions and the powerful corporations are common.

Transhumanism and Cybernetics are ubiquitous within society, often highly subsidised to the local populace with at least five years residence.
