Acatalepsy's character in FBH Fantasia Second.
Character Info
Backstory
Raised mostly on the street of {Capital City Name}, Kaija learned early to steal, lie, and escape. She was chosen (at random, as far as she knows) by Kauko de Savo, spymaster for House {Exhack Character Family Name}, as a recruit - he saw potential, or at least, someone who would owe him everything. Trained and educated within {Palace Name}, with frequent excursions to the street to run errands for Kauko.
With the fall of {Kingdom Name}, Kaija has fled with the prince - but there were complications. Now she's undertaking one last mission to protect him.
Trait: I am incredibly slow to trust. Those who seem the fairest have the most to hide.
Bond: I was trained as a spy and bodyguard. I failed, and most of the people I was charged to protect are dead - save one.
Ideal: I'm loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can rot in the dark for all I care.
Flaw: I let my need to win arguments overshadow friendships and harmony.
Character Connections
Prince Pietari: Prince of Lapingria - to the extent that this matters, anymore. A childhood friend. Kaija isn't about the let them get themselves killed so soon - out of some combination of genuine friendship or out of a debt to his house (and the former spymaster). After that? Well...
Kauko de Savo: Once known as the 'Monk of {Palace Name}', this sage-like figure was the effective spymasters of {Kingdom Name}. A surrogate father figure for Kaija, and the one who recruited her off the street and supervised most of her training. Sometimes known as 'Raven-faced Kak' for his somewhat unsightly appearance and the popular rumor that the birds spied for him, he was to most a hard, taciturn man who nonetheless had a way of bonding with his subordinates. Kaija has taken his death harder than perhaps she realizes - his influence casts a long shadow over her life.
Elias Rintaala: Uncle, on her father's side. A powerful figure in the underworld of {Kingdom Name}, as a leading figure of the Pentagonal Oath, an organized crime ring and secret society. Though she doesn't have particularly warm relationship with her uncle, he does have a soft spot for family - so soft he might even make an almost-fair deal with them. That soft spot doesn't extend too far - and as a member of a society involved in organized crime, there's enough calculation in him to betray or work against his niece, if she has something he wants.
Sidedealing Lahja: Kaija's favored contact and half-sister. A lower-ranking initiate in the Pentagonal Oath, with little interest in going higher - preferring safe fencing working, with a side of forgery. Owes Kaija several favors, and is interested in keeping up a mutual relationship with the one person she knows who 'made it good'.
