Background

The daughters of a minor mage, Jessica and her twin sister were apprenticed to a middling prominent English mage in their youth. Unfortunately the mage that they were apprenticed to had some enemies as well as secrets and he was killed along with Jessica's twin sister. Said twin has returned to haunt Jessica as a wraith which has driven her to the study of spiritualism, even as the mage who killed her master continues to hunt for Jessica – the last living apprentice.
