Legions of Crystal
Brief Intro
Five years ago the first Emperor Gaius Vas Solis and last Consul of the Republic attempted to gather twelve of the Crystals Shards of the Gods together in the Temple of Sol to obtain godhood himself, in order to protect mankind from the capricious chaotic gods of the southern continent.
He was defeated and mortally wounded by a band of “heroes” known as the Warriors of Light. They believed the world was saved by their actions, but the fallout of their misguided deed looms large as the distant corners of civilization are pressured by all manner of twisted man and monster.
In response, by unanimous decree the Senate declared the Punitive Campaign against Izoria who sheltered these “heroes” and provides refuge to them still. Yet the wounded Emperor still clings to his fading life and the childless Sovereign has declared that the next Emperor will be chosen after proving themselves worthy on the field of combat and politics, the shortlist candidates to be chosen by the Senate for his deliberations. There could perhaps be no worthier forum than Izoria to decide the fate of the Empire.
You are one of the emerging elite of the Empire and the many fronts of war and politics shall be the arena in which you can prove not just your loyalty to the Imperium, but perhaps your worth to be its Sovereign lord.
Modus Operandi
This is a game in which you play a significant military or political personage in service of the Aventine Empire, seeking to expand your own wealth, power and prestige and perhaps even that of the Empire as well. Predominantly it is PvE with a sprinkle of acting against other players.
Your reputation will be of key importance, as well as your military, political and financial success. They are tracked with the following two stats.
Virtus
Pruendtia, iustitia, temperantia and fortitudo are all tenets of Virtus. Virtus is the core virtue of the Aventine Empire and within the game represents your prestige and political capital. To gain it, you must win acclaim for your actions, demonstrating your worth to the Empire and to it’s most powerful figures and groups.
Infamia
Infamia represents the public knowledge of your darker deeds, the Empire may expect conquest, wealth and the lamentations of it’s enemies, but perhaps paradoxically it expects ‘civilized’ behavior and looks unkindly upon wanton cruelness and exploitation.
