The Synthesis was born from a project to create sustainable high tech lifeforms and are a group of sapient humanoids derived from humanity lifeforms. Syn are highly emphatic, with heightened responses to distress in others. Designed for low-aggressive and cooperation they were required to be enthusiast and encourage bonding behaviours.  
Not much is known of the original project, their benefactors are lost to history. Regardless, it was clearly a large and expensive effort. The Syntha Polis a high tech well fortified enclave and remained almost entirely hidden for much of it's existence.


The structure of society begins with the basic social unit, of 20 Syntha who interact in a residence. These Syntha will form the basic biological network unit and will share all experiences with each other during downtime each of them connecting to each other in order to share the days events and perceptions. Within the group, primary and secondary experiences often merge and thus to many, each group of twenty can seem very similar, or almost identical to an outsider. Within greater Syntha society, through the wireless consciousness, greater differentiation is maintained in order to faciliate different perspectives which faciliate growth and alternative points of view.
A common Synthatic proverb is "Identity is a function of perspective".

The Synthesis was born from a project to create sustainable posthuman lifeforms and are a group of sapient humanoids derived from human genestock. They are smaller than humans, require less volatiles and mass to support their functioning and can control the rate of their breeding.


The Synthesis is a post-capitalist economy, there are no actual possessions has Syntha lack material desires, though they of course have objects they use and cherish to some degree, everything is communally owned and the constant interconnection between each member of the group allows for perfect planning of any particular 'needs'.  
Syntha are highly empathic, at least to each other. They lack innately aggressively instincts and are usually altruistic and cooperative to a high degree. They do not generally organize into genetic familial units, though most live communally in groups built along social line or political. Despite the lack of innate aggression, Syntha are quite capable of taking human life and regard much of humanity as bestial. As a species, they generally value scientific and artistic pursuits and in this regard, are not dissimilar from many humans.  
The breakdown resulted in a highly insular economy, the equal living standards of all Synthesis allow for a high degree of living quality compared to the size of the economy.  


====Broad biology and Recap====
The Syntha have developed what their creators may see as unfortunate memetics. They see it as their role to shepherd bestial humanity to a better, more civilized and sustainable form. They have no qualms about conquering human populaces using force, but generally seek to incorporate them as gently as possible.
Syn’s are about five feet tall, with generally youthful faces, multicoloured Heterochromiatic eyes and minimal obvious hair below the neck.  
Syn’s express individual identify through their luminescent markers which are unique to each individual, which are used to indicate various emotional stresses involuntary to quickly alert others to distress if they have 'firewalled' their memory from the network for whatever reason. Syns come in pairs, in terms of appearance they are identifical twins, except for hair colour. The other physical distinguishment is each twin has reversed Heterochromia. One might have a green left eye and a red right eye, the other will have the opposite.
Syntha are cloned.


Geography
A united society, they have a democratic system which is splintered into various political blocs. Economically, it is a egalitarian society in which the resources of the nation are shared equally. As a near post-scarcity civilization and with little of the material wants present in humans, most resources are directed to supporting apparatus of state.

They have a longterm view that humanity as a whole must progress and break free of it's evolutionary shackles, that cause sapient suffering. This is expressed In a broadly pro-transhumanist outlook.
Syn’s are about four feet tall, with generally youthful faces, multicoloured eyes and are entirely hairless except for eyebrows and the top of their head, which they generally wear long. Their brains are slightly smaller than a humans, having undergone significant alteration to improve efficiency and energy usage. Some autonomic functions have been moved to other parts of the body in order to support a reduced cranium. They are stronger than they appear and quite athletic. They have a number of resource conservation traits, including the ability to hibernate.
The Remontoire Synthesis deals with outsiders through an organisation known as the ‘Extranational Circumstance Index’, which is divided into the Diplomatic/Intelligence wing known as ‘ENVOY’ and the military wing referred to as ‘SENTINEL’.
The ECI is also responsible for the military-industrial complex of the Synthesis and broadly handles all sensitive research materials and data with a national security implication.  
The ECI is a paranoid organisation, the internal harmony of the Synthesis collective does not apply to the greater galaxy and the ECI takes a measured view of human affairs, some polities are to be strengthened, others to be weakened. It is also constantly pushing the boundaries of military technology and engineering in order to ensure parity with humans, or supremacy.
For all outward appearences, the ECI is accepting of outsiders and attempts to maintain at the bare minimum, cordial relations with most powers.

Their most radical change is in terms of reproduction. Syntha are hermaphrodites which completely lack any form of sexuality. Syntha can produce up to one ovum egg every year and a number of spermatozoon eggs. They reproduce by placing a spermatozoon egg inside the ovum via a single tentacle at the apex of the egg. Eggs are produced in a distinct variety of shades and mating is usually performed by matching colors. Once fertilised, the egg will grow. Syntha produce protein balls which they can use to feed the egg. Syntha eggs generally take 18 months to mature.
ENVOY is the diplomatic arm of the ECI, it deals with outsiders of all types and also includes the Counter-Intelligence and Intelligence services.  
ENVOY employs diplomatic staff who are slightly taller than the norm, using the original template designed to interact with the original colonists humans, short by human standards but tall by the standards of common Syntha.

Syntha generally raise children on their own, or as part of a larger social group which they may belong.
SENTINEL is the military of the Synthesis. The Syntha assigned to the SENTINEL military are deliberately created, cybernetically augmented, who make it their mission to study, learn and adapt to human methods of war-fighting. This includes full historical studies up until the First Space War. SENTINEL and the rest of the Synthesis rarely interact, Soldier Type Syntha are cold, calculating and ruthless.
