Cassandra Reinhart
Description: Tall, lean girl with long, black hair tied into a ponytail, blue eyes and a perpetually curious face.
History: Cassandra Reinhart was an experimental pilot for one of the Solar Federation's Aleph programs. Marked with Aleph potential by a transgene screening firm, she was brought in for the proper augments and training, and her acumen led her to a job testing funnel systems. A cheering, charming girl, Cass (as she preferred to be called) enjoyed her work and the people she worked with.
One person among her staff was especially dear to her - Professor Stein, her supervisor and the head of the Funnel Development Lab. The two developed a close relationship during the testing, becoming fast friends. Cass even requested she not be transferred to other programs when the opportunity came up, so she could stay with her friend. When he said he was going away, she prepared to go with him. She couldn't imagine being without him gently commenting on her performance.
The day of the attack, she immediately went to find him. The fuel explosion crippled the base's power, but with Aleph skill and transhuman physique, she made it through to her suit, and attempted to hold off the attacker. She managed, finally, to get a hold of the doctor, urging him to get to safety. As the enemy began to flee, she pursued their escaping shuttle, telling Stein she wasn't going to let them escape. Stein urged her to stop, with the sounds of sharp, panicked exclamations in the background; Cass, confused, questioned this. It was then that Stein revealed where he was - he was on the shuttle, escaping with the Neo-Jove operatives. He told her that she could kill him if she wanted, but he was following his heart, and she could too.
Cass took all of three seconds to choose, three seconds that were like an hour of agonizing emotional tearing. Her pursuit became cover, as she blasted and aimed to cripple the suits that had been her allies. They made their way across the icy landscape, towards their exit point and the waiting ship. However, even with Cass's help, the losses were great - Cass watched as the shuttle, and her friend, was destroyed by a planetary battery.
Screaming in rage, she tore into her foes, stopping only when her suit became too damaged to continue operation. Thanks to an alert Neo-Jove pilot, she was brought on-board, as they jumped out.
Cass stayed on with Neo-Jove afterwards, but hasn't yet spoke of her defection. She's still cheery and energetic, strangely without sadness or fear at her new position.
