Long ago, 700 Fir Bolg assaulted Asgard at the behest of Loki. While a mortal race, the Fir Bolg were shielded from divine intervention of any kind- a potent weapon against the Aesir and their servants. To combat the invaders, Odin, the All-Father assumed the guise of Dagda and had the Formorians raise an army of mortals, the Tuatha de Danaan.

As Dagda, Odin hoped to create a new pantheon of deities and heroic mortals who would be 'Ragnarok Exempt'- that is, not factored into the calculations of CASE RAGNAROK, and thus capable of surviving such a hypothetical scenario. However, the Fir Bolg, angry at their defeat at the hands of the Tuatha de Danaan, told the Formorians of how their god was an imposter, a trickster using them as the Fir Bolg had been used by Loki. The ancestor of the Fir Bolg and the Formorians, the Einjehar Neit, confirmed the tale, and the Formorians rebelled against Dagda and attempted to slay or pervert the Tuatha de Danaan, whom remained loyal to the All-Father.

For his sin of speaking the truth, Neit was forged into a mighty sword, and cursed never to speak again. Cast down from Asgard amidst a plain of swords, Neit was taken up by a young Tuatha de Danaan King, Nuada, and used to slay the FOrmorian king, Bres the Beautiful. Since that time, Neit has slumbered, while his blade was wielded by heroes and tyrants alike.

In the recent age, however, Neit has begun stirring. While unable to communicate directly with those who wield him, Neit is able to enact a form of possession, guiding them indirectly, firming their resolve, and directing them on a quest to break his Geasa, albeit with little success.

Adel O'Shainn is a Formorian princess. Sealed away by her father in a great vault beneath the earth to protect her virtue (Obsensibly to protect her from 'Milesian invaders'), she escaped through the buried Plane of Swords, a haunted battlefield, the site of the first battle between the Tuatha de Danaan and the Formorians. There, she found the sword Neit, which guided her through the harrowing journey, until she entered the lands of the Tuatha de Danaan and safety.

Once there, she encountered the Tuatha de Danaan's war goddess, The Morrigan, whom relayed to her the history of the sword Neit, and of the plight of the Tuatha de Danaan people, exiled from the stars by a powerful Milesian blockade. Moved by The Morrigan's tale, and by the plight of her blade, Adel challenged the Milesian arbiter Amergin Glúingel for his deception, dividing the heavens and the earth, and 'gifting' the Tuatha de Denaan their planet, while forever banning them from the limitless heavens. Shamed by Adel's truth, Amergin stepped down as Arbiter, although not before lifting the ban on the Tuatha de Danaan people, in exchange for allowing the Milesians to settle part of the planet.

Krenn Info

All Krenn are insectoid, and operate on a sort of automatic dominate the lessers, be dominated by the superiors' setup. All non-Krenn life are lessers, so the Krenn naturally work to dominate them in every aspect- physical, cultural, social- they aim to be superior, though that superiority also includes a total lack of respect for the lessers.

This is a biological imperative, and the Krenn are themselves aware it exists, but have (that you know) taken no steps to eliminate or restrict it, because it's just how they work. So like, the Krenn leader dominates all other lesser Krenn, whom automatically defer to it and its imperatives. Any Krenn warlord might have a collection of lesser Krenn under its command, whom automatically defer to it (in its presence).

While there's some degree of political plotting, for the Krenn it all comes down to self improving, be that training to be better (biologically Krenn have no limit to how much they can improve), or sourcing some new find, technology, development, cultural or social model from them. Krenn don't 'lie' about the origin of things, and there's a consideration that the particular individual that brings something under the domination of the empire to be made superior by the magnitude of that find.

So naturally invading the Alpha and Beta quadrants was a major push that elevated a lot of lesser Krenn to higher positions.

Some Krenn are of the Explorer subtype, and is much less fanatic than the warrior subtype. Explorers are, occasionally, willing to take measures to suppress their innate requirement to dominate other species, particularly if it means they can make contact with species that can provide them interesting things that might serve to elevate their position in Krenn society.

Krenn armaments are nasty. They don't like, have weapons as a discrete thing- they believe the necessity of having a deliberately designed weapon is the mark of an inferior race. So all their 'weapons' are actually 'tools' that they can also use to kill or damage or the like.

Oh, also, nobody knows how they do it, but Krenn have access to some sort of psychometry ability where they can instantly know all the things that someone knows- even at range. You don't know the limits of this power, but there were a couple times during the war when explorer type Krenn contacted starfleet captains on their personal secure ultra top secret emergency frequencies using all the correct code
