We actually have an excuse for declaring war, which is better than the ESA. We're just trying to push a valid excuse to blow shit up (way) further than it should actually go. --[[User:MJ12 Commando|MJ12 Commando]] 09:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Firebase Rumsfeld should have SAM tanks/striders and ODGs ready to be set up as soon as the transports touch down; ground defense units can dig in and mecha can be based there much more easily than air defenses can be quickly built. Also, it will alleviate strain on the fabbers. -Zeke

The idea is that the fleet provides orbital security until the +1 AA +1 range +1 armor, -2 immobile AA batts and +1 range +1 firepower -2 immobile orbital defense guns get set up. Anti-invasion security will be provided by an elite infantry battalion and a handful of regulars.

You might want to look into using TL2 units for Counter-insurgency and security work on Vajeya. Counter insurgency is a slot-free cap, after all. +2 AI +1 Security / Co-in could work. Use your awesomecool TL4 deathmachines for the kinetic operations. --OmegaPaladin 07:54, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Already planned for. I think the idea was T-800 knockoffs with +2 AI, +1 armor, and +1 riot control adaptation or something, since that way losing a bunch wouldn't matter, and they'd be capable of beating up unarmed or lightly armed rioters well enough. --MJ12 Commando 08:18, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

The ESA protests this blatant imperialism, but is a little busy right now. --Peel 08:21, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Is the ESA also protesting against the operations taking place in Roanupur? --MJ12 Commando 08:22, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Our excuse is far more convincing than yours (and our excuse sucks). --Peel 08:37, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

Vajeya has:
1. Seized ships belonging to a sovereign nation (act of war)
2. Taken those ships and crews hostage (act of war, again)
3. Forced other vessels of two sovereign nations into acting on their behalf because of this blackmail
4. Is aggressive, xenophobic, and expansionistic
5. Is unlikely to respond in the desired way if a more limited intervention is taken.

Admittedly actually toppling a government over this is pretty drastic, but we're PCs! We don't do things by half measures (also nobody not out on the rim really notices or cares about them I believe and their neighbors don't like 'em much).

Meanwhile Roanupur has:
1. Sold drugs to New Jerusalem

We actually have an excuse for declaring war, which is better than the ESA. We're just trying to push a valid excuse to blow shit up (way) further than it should actually go. --MJ12 Commando 09:26, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
