A distinguished aristocrat and scientist, Lord Mesha is one of the foremost official practitioners of Necromancy in the Hegemony. He holds a doctorate in Necromancy and Thaumaturgical Physics from the University of Ishtar, and is a known member of the Arcanist Society, a gentleman's club for mystical scholars. Mesha's involvement in polite society has invariably made him a controversial figure due to his education, though he has remarkably avoided actual scandal. He is fond of the pipe, and is a (terrible) hobbyist target shooter.

Once a commissioned as a Cornet in the Hegemony of Ur's allied cavalry regiments, she currently serves the Governor-general after the thrill of battle was drained by the drudgery of war. Very little in life rouses her; wine is so much sour grapes, fine food is simply ash, and song is simply words put in order. It is a profound apathy often mistaken for haughtiness or disdain, especially compared to the normally brash and rowdy nature of the Sakae. However, she did not come to this Jungle province by chance...

A trained and accredited member of the Hegemony of Ur's multidisciplinary division of trailblazing explorers, empirical researchers and field archaeologists. Although many of his peers have criticized his lack of genteel refinement and good breeding, his superiors value his prosaic attention to detail, ability to not get lost in dark tunnels and his monomaniacal fixation on proper archaeological procedure. Off duty, Karnos enjoys gambling, excessive drinking and transcribing dusty old texts.

A fairly educated orc, known to help important people with personnal problems. He have been strongly recommended to take part in the expedition. Ultimatly useless in a straight-up fight, he is nonetheless good at making traps of all kind and somewhat knownlegdeable in hunting.(He's a good cook,too.)

Sir Krosu Anosh

Decorated soldier, accomplished naturalist, and big game hunter extraordinaire; Krosu Anosh has never failed to heed the call to adventure. Born to a minor noble household, he spent several years serving as a scout in the Hegemony military, where his skill with a musket garnered him no small measure of renown. After retiring his commission, he used his personal wealth to indulge in his passion for hunting, eagerly pitting himself against the largest and most challenging prey he could find. Although normally quite jovial, he becomes deadly serious when on the hunt, knowing that even the smallest mistake could mean the difference between life and death. He regards his prey with a deep respect that occasionally borders on spiritual reverence, and will not stand for the cruel or unsportsmanlike treatment of animals (or people for that matter).
