OCP Foundation: Operations
Carrying out Operations: There are a lot of strange events happening around the world, many times there will be several occurring at one time. It is up to you which events you will choose to respond to and how. Be aware though that the way you approach a situation can have dire consequences for your organization.
Selecting an Assignment: When there are multiple anomalies occurring at once you may not have the resources to answer for them all, especially early on. So you’ll need to pick which event you want to respond to and how.
Deploying Personnel: Assuming you have a vehicle in your inventory which can get your personnel to the site of the event it’s fairly easy, just state what personnel you are sending and in what vehicles and they will be on their way.
Responding to the event: How you choose to respond is largely up to you, different events may require different actions to deal with them. For example some events may be more public than others requiring a more covert approach, others may require that you get there first with the most muscle to secure the scene/artifact/event.
If you attempt to be covert you can send in agents to investigate a site as these personnel are extremely skilled investigators and infiltrators. If you have agents in place with a government affected by an anomaly you can even attempt to manipulate that government into either assisting or at least not attempting to interfere with your actions, perhaps even managing to make them interfere with potential rivals.
Ending an Event:
Events are sometimes timed, other times they end when a player either secures or destroys whatever it is that was causing the event in the first place. Securing artifacts and the like can be extremely dangerous but also have the potential for high reward financially and technologically.
Heat: Heat is generated by overt actions which leave witnesses or do enough collateral damage that you cannot cover it up, Be aware that as your heat level rises you are more likely to attract the attention of other agencies in the world. Heat levels drop after time or after a successfully executed cover up/covert operation.
Money:
Money can be earned in a number of ways, such as by gaining a sponsor from a government/corporate/other entity by using agents to infiltrate and negotiate on your behalf.
Selling artifacts and other recovered items can bring in vast sums of money, though who you sell them too may prove important to your own long term survival and wellbeing.
Budget: Most organizations have a parent sponsor of some sort which will provide a budget based on various factors. Initial budget for all organizations except otherwise specified is 1 million a month.
Money can also be earned by opening a front company though this requires that you have a product to sell that may be derived from artifacts.
And finally money can be “acquired” from some event sites if you can get in to a bank account or two, though this also has a chance of raising your heat level.
