Description

Nico Cassidy made her fortunes by picking the right dolphins and drawing the right cards. A career gambler, Nico managed to make a lot of money by using what she won to further big wins, and minimizing losses by never betting everything. The results of her campaign of betting left her with a vast fortune and a luxury riverboat she converted into her own mobile casino, Your Diamond Catspaw. Nico has already gathered some attention on its first few stops, with a few winners walking away richer, and many having good food, good games, and good company. A collector of fine rarities and noteworthy items, Nico is always on the lookout for talk of rare finds and lost sites, to add to her collection and to keep her interested.

Nico has won much of her fortune by gambling - she won her famous gambling boat as part of her biggest game ever, a poker game against famous explorer Wester Jennings. Jennings is a vindictive and prideful man, embarrassed that a filthy nobody could beat him (and trick him into betting everything foolishly). It's rumoured that he's fallen in with some pirates.

In a world where rarity and uniqueness denote value, owning something with history is wealth. Nico has taken interest in a particular artifact of legend, the Spade-11 Operating Intelligence, a legendary computer said to be capable of predicting probabilities with near-perfect accuracy. She would risk much for this wonderful technology, simply to own the world's greatest predictive AI.

Nico's childhood is a point of mystery about her - she dislikes speaking of her origins or history beyond her later gambling years. As a catgirl, rumours of her being a former pirate abound, usually loudest from those who have lost to the most to her.
