Hollevania: Blood of the Kin
Concept
Theme: Attack On Vampire (you are the vampire)
Welcome to the ancient vampire castle, where the lineage of blood-drinking nobility has resided since times of yore, extracting their sanguine tribute from the surrounding lands, safe within their gothic fortress.
You are them.
That’s right, ‘’’you’’’ are the vampires. You can even be the vampire monarch! Enjoy life of obscene decadence within the inviolable citadel raised by the hands of your ancestors, or indeed, quite possibly you yourself. An army of servants awaits your command, ready at your use or abuse. Exactly how big jerks the merry vampiric nobility is, is entirely up to you. Go wild! However, as the eternal party continues, tonight held in honour of one of the lineage’s youngest members reaching adulthood, there are other things waiting, hiding within the great forest surrounding the castle raised in the middle of a deep lake. Biding their time.
At long last, the Church is coming, and it brings fire.
Whether this night will be the end of a thousand-year history or not is now in your blood-stained hands.
Characters
Vampires! Goddamn vampires, as far as the eye can see. Though if you really want to play a human that's cool too, I suppose. I'm willing to accept blood-sucking werewolves too.
Point is, blood! Blood's important. No blood, no deal. The exact details of the kinds of vampires involved are up to you, though, goodness knows that folklore has a load of vastly different types and I'm not even restricting it to that. If you want advice, ask away!
At most basic level, you have 25 points to distribute between following stats:
- Physical
- Mental
- Social
- Will
Physical is pretty standard affair, and is also your number of HP/2. Social is also rather self-explanatory, although notably it also is used as the stat to give orders to your servants. Mental and Will can both cover special abilities and vampire magic, up to you which stat you attach to which, but mental also covers general mental activities and figuring things out, while will doubles as the integrity stat. (after you lose all your HP, Will rolls can keep you going)
But of course, vampires also have special abilities! You get blood-sucking for free, of course, which uses Physical to drain HP from things and restore them to you. (if you don't want to kill someone with it, do note, in case the dice decide to be harsh mistresses) After that, you get three powers of your choice, which you can attach to any stat you want. You can also boost a power by casting from HP, adding 1 success per every hit point lost.
However! Each of you also has a special weakness - specify what it is! (generally speaking "stake through a heart" is already covered by HP, so this is the more unusual side of it)
