For the most part, Itsuka has had a perfectly normal life. Born in Hokkaido, fourth child and second daughter of an office worker and shrine maiden, she attended the local schools, took up Kendo and playing the piano as hobbies(excelling in the former while stumbling along with the latter), before leaving the nest and reading Economics at Todai. Four hard but enjoyable years later, she returned home to take over the running of the shrine from her aging mother, much to the surprise and delight of her parents.
