Political Entities

First Tier

Star League

The Star League is an strong confederation of aristocrat controlled great houses centered around the Taranis over-sector in old Republic reckoning. With a core of twenty major industrialized worlds and over fifty secondary conquests (many of them minor hardscrabble worlds barely worth the effort to conquer) the League is the dominant force of the local map. The League had been local affair till the rediscover of the Long Jump which saw it spread outside of its local cluster very rapidly.
The League is officially a weak confederation of allied states ruled by a first among equals, however, the House of the First Lord, Bao has maintained a iron grip on the hold of the rest of the League through at first clever politics and now outright terror. House Bao maintains the secret to construction of naval grade buster weapons has allowed it to direct its own personal and League forces to be able put down any threats to its power, with most recent example being House d'Este. Right now House Bao star is still ascending despite the problems of its current head as the other Great Houses remain cowed by the destruction of d'Este. Though if there was ever a time when the Great Houses united against the Director-King, there may very well be a new First Lord after such a conflict.
The League maintains a centralized navy. The average major House Fleet consists between 5-20 battleships and 20-60 escorts of varying quality of which at the moment there is 15 such houses.

  • 1st Fleet: Haln
    • 12 3rd Gen BB, 8 2nd Gen BBs, 50 Escorts of Gen II and III
  • 2nd Fleet: Orwell
    • 4 8 2nd Gen BB, 4 1st Gen BB, 30 Escorts of Gen I and II

3rd Fleet: Gaxung

    • 4 4 2nd Gen BB, 8 1st Gen BB, 30 Escorts of Gen I and II
  • 4th Fleet: Port Digsby
    • 4 7 2nd Gen BB, 30 Escorts of Gen I and II and III
  • 5th Fleet: New Gothenburg
  • 6th Fleet: Haln
  • 7th Fleet: Mercurius
    • 4 20 1st Gen BB, 30 Escorts of Gen I
  • 8th Fleet: Nova Prospekt

2 3rd Gen BBs, 2 Gen 2 BBs, 15 Escorts

  • 9th Fleet: New Gothernburg

2 3rd Gen BBs, 10 Gen 2BBS, 35 Escorts Gen I-III

There is also the Peacekeeper Corps, which is second line but Haln native occupation troops used to put the boot down on those who displease the Director-King. Though most of their ships are mainly troop transports and system control cruisers.

Holy Church of Enoch

The Holy Church of Enoch is technically the oldest state in known space. It was never officially annexed by the Republic and had during the late Republic entered into devil's deal with the Republic of being allowed to be used as state church to keep the proles in line. At first this was one way street with the Patrol calling the shots but generations of workers indoctrinated into the Church's teachings had lead to faith growing its power on both worker level as well infiltrating the elites to be given a great deal of power. In the treaties with the Republic, the Church was forbidden from heaving armed starships, however, there said nothing about orbital monitor of which the Church build many of them armed with the best weapons. The result was such a fiercely defended system that despite the hostility the Church had garnered from the Empire, resulted in Enoch beating off any attempt at directed invasion on three separate occasions during the Final War.

During the long night after the fall of the Republic, it was Church long jump starships that kept some semblance of inter-cluster trade going and its position had increased though it kept its ftl armed warship corp small and prefers when it rules other worlds planets through local proxies. Today its the official state church of the League and worlds beyond and officially an ally of the League. However, the Patriarch was no friend of House Bao as Cardinal of the Office of Holy Sanctity, and House Bao troubling heavy handed interactions with the League has seen relations grow colder.

Glasself-Doryne

The Star Kingdom of Glasself-Doryne is a Pleiadian descended interstellar polity located further past the Osiris sector, in its own Doyrne sector of 12 dozen worlds and another twenty spread across sectors deeper into Pleiadian space. The Kingdom is ruled high aristocracy of incredibly potent psykers whose internal politics are often opaque and Byzantine to League observers. The original dispute between the League and the Kingdom had been presence of Church missionaries in worlds of the Osiris sector, other factors as being descended from the boogeymen of each other apocalyptic histories, as well as both being clearly expanding hegemonies as seen minor border conflicts break out, as well as the support that Glasself-Doyrne is believed to give the infamous Blood Raiders. The mainstay of the forces seen in Osiris sector are older Generation I units for the most part, though there has been sightings and the occasional skirmish with pysker tech outfitted Gen IIs and IIIs warships. It is estimated by PAX there are probably more Pleiadian states further behind the Osris curtain that occupies their attention though even with that they remain a peer level threat to the League.

Secondary Powers

The Megelgican Weltreich

One hundred years ago the industrial cold world of Megelgica was just a promising world. However, the current Tyrant of the Weltreich saw the expansion of the League on the horizon and through hook, crook, space piracy, bribery and murder managed to conquer their sector and obtain long jump technology and has been expanding like a wild fire. The Weltreich now controls stars in over three sectors at 26 worlds. The Weltreich however on paper over two or three times amount of ships as the League navy, but it consists of orbital monitors or gens 1. Worrying there is sign of more tech transfer perhaps from Glasself-Doyrne with some of the Tyrant's Own squadrons showing Gen 1.5 or 2.

Federation of Ishtar

A world that had repulsed House Kanako grasping invasion through the discovery and reactivated of the Star Patrol battleship Rin-Sin. Since then the Federation has created an alliance of smaller worlds and protectorates as it desperately attempts to ramp up from late solar era civilization it was before the Rin-Sin to be the interstellar polity it needs save itself from round two with the League.
