Ashley Naismith

Only child of somewhat renowned scavenger parents who made their fortune after stumbling on a large MSA cache. Both parents subsequently disappeared on their next expedition a decade ago and are presumed dead. Ashley had largely been raised by the Red Tailed Tribe, a splicer community that they called home in between expeditions so the absence of parents didn't change its life all that much, though it had to sell off most of its inheritance to raise money to read Media Studies at the Farnese Academy of Fine Arts. Ashley feels the same wanderlust that seized both of its parents, and seeks to do a documentary charting their travels. But that kind of project takes money, hence the present project: A hard hitting reality series about adventurers on Eudaimonia.

The Red Tailed Tribe Needs Your Help: Ash's tribe pretty much raised it since birth, its parents refusing to bring it along during their ever more daring expeditions. A few years ago, portions of the tribe's home island began sinking into the depths of the sea, forcing a number of the already disparate tribe to resettle elsewhere. With the risk of the rest of the island sinking, all tribe members have been tasked with either finding another suitable home, or finding someone who might be able to solve the problem.

Les Enfant Terrible?: Ash's parents made significant changes to its genome and a lot of it bears the mark of the Mysterious Starfish Aliens. Of these, only the telempathic genes are active. What do the rest do? Does it have anything to do with its innate familiarity with MSA technology?
