PACT

USA

The USA lost no major world during the ZOCU war and while its overall military record during the conflict was mixed, it emerged strong.

Brazil

The third of the PACT's 'leading three', Brazil was generally removed from the conflict.

Status: Didn't Play
Political Stance: Ignore the War

Japan

Japan's offworld ambitions were stymied by the defection of Fuso and Kanon, leaving them as something of a rump state.

Status: Loser
Political Stance: Corporate State

EU

Germany and France

Neither Germany nor France suffered significant defection and their contributions to the war - including both the famous 'Doppels' and Germany's first genuine war hero in two centuries, Admiral Anton Zweiker combined to put these two at the pinnacle of the EU's power structure, where they have begun to direct its attention outwards.

Britain

Britain (and the Commonwealth as a whole) lost a great deal of prestige during the war. Affiliated worlds like New Mercia, Londinium and Transbaal all defected away, decisively weakening Britain's position in the EU.

Political Stance: Fraying Patchwork

Belgium/Denmark/The Netherlands

These nations were the primary backers for Vrijheid, which defected to ZOCU. They have since retreated into more isolationist, local politics.

ZOCU

Londinium

Londinium escaped the war without significant damage and remains the core of ZOCU. Its philosophy of outward direction finds strong support.

Status: Winner
Political Stance: Put It Behind Us

Kanon

While having suffered an early ground campaign, Kanon rebounded and maintains its position as a key ZOCU world and a center for science and engineering. Like Londinium, it strives to keep the Union intact.

Status: Winner
Political Stance: Guiding Star

Transbaal

The demands of war proved too much for Transbaal's fragile economy and some mis-steps in the immediate postwar has put the world into doldrums. Resentment and resignation is growing among the citizens at the government's inability to properly manage the situation.

Status: Loser
Political Stance: Internal Collapse

New Mercia

New Mercia and Albion practically had to be forced apart at gunpoint after the close of the main war, and unfortunately like Transbaal, the peacetime economy has not been kind to New Mercia.

Status: Loser
Political Stance: Never Forget

Haraway

Despite being the scene of brutal fighting both on the ground and in space, Haraway largely feels it came out a winner in the war. However, while the immedate threat of an EU invasion has been removed, tension continues to run high with the EU, and many on Haraway regard a second round as a question of when not if.

Hampshire

Located behind the front lines, Hampshire remained untouched by the war. They provided their large merchant marine for logistical support and attacked PACT and EU supplies lines with their new stealth ships. Peacetime has found Hampshire one of the wealthiest nations within ZOCU. They share Londinium's philosophy of outward expansion.

Sino-Russians

Russia

The collapse of the Chinese arm gave Russia an opportunity to play catch-up with the PRC, though it remains to be seen if Russia's quiet interventionism will backfire.

Status: Winner
Political Stance: Transhumanize!

China

For thirty years, China had to suffer the indignity of having most of its colonies cut off. Fresh indignities were heaped upon them with the growth of nationalist feelings in the 'New Taiwans'.

Status: Loser

The League

Minkowski and Bilad Al-Rafigayn

The war allowed the systems of Minkowski and Bilad Al-Rafigayn the opportunity to flex their muscles free of Core interference, helping themselves and by extension the League achieve a position of local strength.

Status: Winner
Political Stance: Be Interventionist

Independents

Fuso

Something of a sideshow during the war, Fuso managed to be a tough enough customer that PACT signed an early seperate peace with them. However, their particular brand of ultranationalism has found them few friends in ZOCU or elsewhere.

Status: Winner
Political Stance: Ideological Purification

SIYAN

SIYAN was a major combatant in the Pac-Am arm and was one of the additional parties covered by the Treaty of Sirius. They remain an official observer in ZOCU and to PACT planners, a worrying techno-military power at the end of the Pac-Am catapult chain.

Status: Winner
Political Stance: Get Sirius

Theia

A world that remains split between pro-independence and pro-PACT nations, Theia has become militarized and is one of the more likely flashpoints.
