Ogasawara

Hisaki is born into the Ogasawara clan, a cadet branch of a powerful samurai dynasty. They have resided in old Hizen province (the vicinity of present-day Nagasaki) for centuries. The clan transitioned to being dominantly Hermetic during the Azuch-Momoyama period but produced a Chorister as recently as the 19th century and still produces the odd Akashayana. Centuries ago, the Ogasawara were just one of three magical clans in Japan who produced mages under the Name of Ariadust. The other two are now extinct and Ariadust was subsumed into House Ex Miscellaneae with three Ogasawara mages making up its awakened membership.

Shinobu Kaede Ogasawara Merfa Ariadust (Hisaki and Asumi's Great Grandmother; 1906-)

Saburo Ogasawara (1947-)

Shinobu's eldest son, a granduncle who fell out and eventually relearned magic to become an Akashic monk. Has been sharing time between Hokkaido and Central Asia since the Soviet collapse. Not on speaking terms with the matriarch.

Younger cousin and (according to her) rival to Hisaki. With a mage parent, she is even more born into magic than Hisaki is and is a dual-tradition natural. Has a very powerful avatar and multiple physical talents, including being a middle school archery champion but makes up for it with rebellion and a nigh supernatural ability to get on with people that great grandmother doesn't want her to meet.
