- G3 Plasma Blade
The Iolaus is the Solar Federation's current front line mass production mobile suit and of all its myriad variants, the SFSF's orbital use Iolaus A2 variants are the most common. A well designed, well rounded and perhaps most importantly, technically mature unit, its performance in all key metrics is at least equal if not superior to any opposing force it is likely to encounter in significant numbers.
Aello A5
Primary Operators: SFSF, SFAF
Role: Mass Production interceptor/Attacker
Fixed Armament
- 2 linear guns (head)
- 1 Beam Saber (back)
A somewhat older design based on Jovian technology, the Aello is a high speed intercept and attack suit. It's quick reactions and speed makes it popular with pilots, though it's light armour and reputation as a maintenance hog makes it far less popular with mechanics and commanders.
Atlanta A
http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20131223035311/gundam/images/b/b8/Gnx-y903vw.jpg
Primary Operators: SFSF, SFAF, INTACT
Role: High Speed Superiority suit
Fixed Armament
- 2 linear guns (head)
- 1 Alpha Lance (back)
The Atlanta is an extremely fast aerospace superiority troops optimised to deal with light threats such as raptors, enemy fighters, and rebellious White Rose Asukas. It is used extensively by the Federation due to its relatively cheap production costs. It has a very high ground speed as well as its extremely large orbital engines.
Stymphalian
Primary Operator: SFSF, INTACT Role: Mass Production Autonomous suit
A Solar Federation Drone, shamelessly stolen from older models of League raptors to fill the holes in SF ranks created by their massive out system deployments.
Other
- Iolaus A3
The latest Iolaus A3 variant has improved avionics and an additional vernier assembly, it removes its grenade launcher and mounts a carbine to save space for additional performance. It is used primarily by INTACT and elite SFSF units
- MedeaA
Solar Federation Army/Airforce
Hylas B7C
Getting acquisitions approved is a bureaucratic hassle, especially for the politicially less influential Army and Airforce. Refits and reconstructions need far less paperwork even when they wind up costing more. Through this principle, the SFAA has kept the venerable Hylas on as its primary war machine among its far flung Verge formations. Almost three decades removed from the original, the combat performance of these upgrades cannot be discounted and they are rightly considered 2.5th generation mobile suits. To many an engineering recruit's dismay however, many of these suits do in fact have frames dating back to mid-System War Hylas production runs and their maintenance has been described as a combination of hemorrhoids and exam crunch time.
Outis B-2
Another older style suit, the Outis was the Federations first second generation machine and was used extensively against the Mars clique and the Neo-Jovians in the first Neo-Jovian war. It has lighter armour and worse ground performance than the C (or III) model Hylas that are found in most Federation units, but is popular with pilots as it's easy to control, forgiving and fun to fly. Also used as a trainer in some Federation areas, and in many second line units.
Iolaus B
Primary Operator: SFAA
Role: mass production terrestrial
Fixed Armament
- 2 modular mission pod hardpoint (head)
- 1 beam saber (right hip)
- 3-slot grenade rack (left hip)
- more hardpoints!
Long relegated to second fiddle when it came to its share of the military acquisitions budget, the planetary wing of the the SolFed military has been acquiring its own B and C variant Iolauss for terrestrial and atmospheric operating environments. The B variant is equipped to handle a wide variety of terrain and gravitational conditions and is inherently a tougher suit than the A variants as it is almost never issued with a shield. Head mounted linear cannons are also replaced with modular mission pod hardpoints (usually direct-fire cannon armament on one side and something else in the other).
Antaeus B
Primary Operator: SFAA
Role: Modular Main Battle Terrestrial
- 2 modular mission pod hardpoints (head)
- 1 Beam saber (back)
- Numerous Hardpoints!
The Antaeus is one result of the increase in budget bought about by Solar Federation's push out system. More heavily armed and armoured than an Iolaus, the Antaeus is also even more modular, carrying numerous different pieces of mission equipment and different weapon options. Designed to be the ultimate in ground combat suits, the Antaeus is the Solar Federation Army's pride and joy.
Amphiaraus B
Primary Operator: SFAA
Role: mass production multirole suit
The Amphiaraus is a first Neo-Jovian War/Martian Insurrection era suit now used extensively by the Solar Federation Army. Using mostly Jovian engineering, the Amphiaraus was among the first suits to incorporate a panaroamic screen cockpit and other modern interventions. Produced extensively at the time it is now fairly outmoded but used by various Federation Army and airforce garrisons in isolated regions.
Other
- Hylas C6
- Askalaphos
- Iolaus C
Iolaus D
Primary Operator: SFNM
Role: mass production amphibious/gas giant
The longest Iolaus variant in coming and by far the most sophisticated from an engineering perspective, the Iolaus D goes far above and beyond the mundane requirement of operation in Earthlike waters. Featuring robust environmental controls, radialogical and electromagnetic flux hardening and a condensed graviton pressure balance system, Iolaus D can operate in incredibly hostile environments that have nevertheless proven militarily important in the past, such as the upper layers of gas giants. Its main fixed armament are shoulder mounted heavy pods for missiles or torpedoes.
Doris III D
Primary Operator: SFNM
Role: Mass Production amphibious
The Doris is the navy's other mass production transformable combat suit, designed for both carrier operations, limited aerospace engagements and ground combat. Very much a jack of all trades, master of none, the Doris is never the less cheap, easy to maintain and potentially well armed. Currently on the improved III model, with better ECM, sensors and weapons including a large beam Naginata and sniper cannon.
It is slated to be replaced or augmented by a variant of the new Hippolyta transformable suit.
INTACT
Perseus
A limited mass production version of the transformable Heracles II. They are only issued a few at a time to elite units.
Achilles Project
The Next Gundam.
Leipephilene
http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140627135752/gundam/images/8/8e/Rgm-96x-ova.jpg
A development of the Iolaus series, the Leipephilene is a special operations suit designed for elite commando units of INTACT and other Federation services. Details are sketchy at this time but it is said to feature a very advanced cockpit arrangement, said to combine trace and MMI links.
Jovian Electronics Medea
The first '3rd Generation' mobile weapon, the Medea was designed and built by the reconstituted Jovian Defense Works, renamed as Jovian Electronics under SolFed remit. Rushed into service for the Alpha Centauri war, the first Medeas were notoriously finicky machines thanks to their revolutionary phase compression motor - a technology first developed by Jovian scientists during the System War. The Medea emitted a very distinctive trail of spacetime transients while operating and acquired the nickname 'glitterblowers', a term that has since been used for all craft equipped with phase compression motors. While fast and featuring cutting-edge electronics, the Medea's inordinant and unique maintenance requirements made it unpopular in most commands and the fact that it was built by a Jovian corporation only magnified this. Today, most Medeas are in monomodel squadrons.

Other
- Heracles A2 - The legendary SolFed prototype and perhaps the most famous and well known mobile suit in the core. Its influence on SolFed mobile suit design is second only to its fame as a propaganda coup. The Hylas, Iolaus and virtually every other mobile suit as well as SolFed mobile weapon aesthetics are all ultimately descended from it. Currently resides in the Pentagon Military Museum.
- Heracles II - Used in the the first Neo-Jove war. Mass production versions are used to guard most important Federation government buildings and by elite "praetorian" units.
- Iolaus A3 - INTACT units were the first to receive the newest Iolaus A3 variant which now constitutes their main mobile suit unit.
- Melite - A non-transformable, Heracles type suit of Saturnian origin, originally designed to work in close concert with the Heracles-II. These suits were rushed to competition during the war, and never served in their intended role. A completed and upgraded version, the Hcoma, which uses large numbers of remote weapons, is under evaluation for the Saturnian defense force, SFSF, and INTACT.
Other Federation Units
Diomedes
A small, modular special operations suit used by various Federation special units. These are often used as snipers, troop carriers and for various other special purpose operations. Used extensively by Federation Special Task Force (FST-F) units and by special forces of the various Federation services.
Varangian
These massive mobile suits are used by Federation "Praetorian" units to guard important government facilities such as command centres, government buildings and high risk Embassies from terrorist attack. They share some components with the Iolaus series but are much larger and heavier. They are also used by Federation Special Military Police units.
Other
- Heracles II - Used in the the first Neo-Jove war. Mass production versions are used to guard most important Federation government buildings and by elite "praetorian" units.
Tenshi Corp
Morrígan -2S
Primary Operator: Saturnian Defense Force, INTACT
Role: limited production elite suit
Based on the Jovian Knightress, the Morrígan series is designed primarily for Seraphim pilots. As such it includes an advanced control system and a large bit system designed to best exploit the Seraphim's strength in Aleph. While the Morrígan retains the Knightress's distinctive head shape and design, it dispenses with the Mono-Eye in favour of a seemingly blank mask treated with numerous cell cameras. The Morrígan has considerably higher performance even than a Knightress, and is considered one of the best suits in the Federation Service.
Faax-2
Primary Operator: Saturnian Defense Force, INTACT
Role: Mass Production psychoframe attack suit
The venerable Faaxis the mainstay of the Saturnian Defense force and used extensively by INTACT units. While relatively lightly armoured it is extremely fast and agile, especially by the standards of the first Neo-Jovian war when it was first rolled out. The Faax uses large numbers of bit systems as its primary weapons, and is designed with heavy use of advanced Aleph reactive control systems (psychoframes). The current model is the Faax block II, product of the suits midlife upgrade program.
Faax are colour coded, with the basic model (Silver), the stealth special operations variant (black), atmospheric operations variant (red) and gas giant and oceanic operational unit (blue). Atmospheric versions carry larger, aerodynamic remote weapons rather than the bit swarms of their space going cousins.
Nanta
Primary Operator: Saturnian Defense Force, INTACT
Role: Limited production elite psychoframe attack suit
A more modern replacement to the Faax, the Nanta shares many of its features. Still fast, it has a more balanced design with a good mix of armour and weapons, and is relatively less reliant on remotes. Instead it carries a modular weapon system, usually including a rifle and a hyper velocity missile launcher, together with several beam sabres. It also includes advanced electronic systems and ECM.
Alexandra Raskanos piloted a customized version of one of these suits during the second Neo-Jove war.

An indigenously produced version of the Askalaphos. It is optimized as a fast response unit.
Morrigan WR
As a show of support to the destabilized White Rose Kingdom, INTACT/Seraphim authorized an emergency armaments aid package including a limited number of these cutting edge machines. This generated some controversy at home considering even the Solar Federation Space Fleet does not have them. They are currently assigned exclusively to the Queen's personal Royal Guard units.

Republic of Cygnus
C3 Moai
http://img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120329211217/gundam/images/d/d5/ZM-S06G_Zollidia.png
A mobile suit produced initially for Cygnus by Tensor Corp and then sold generally as the most entry-level of mobile suits. Legendary for its ugliness. Its performance is probably comparable only to the MS-10 Virago I but they are now much more common thanks to ongoing production. There is no space-use variant.

Stout and heavily protected, the Terracotta is a Tensor Corp suit optimized for high gravity worlds (a niche few other major manufacturers seem interested in) though with suitable modifications and mission packs it operates fine in outer space as well. Although also sold generally to anyone who can pay, the Republic of Cygnus military is the largest customer by far as it is well suited to the high gravity world counterinsurgency operations they do.

Armor: 2
Durability: 9

Stealth: 3
Fixed Armament
- G1 Linear Carbine
- G1 Plasma Blade
External Equipment 3
As a mobile doll, the Type 11 Raptor lacks a cockpit or any of the protections and systems associated with keeping a human alive in space. The balance of empty volume is filled with additional energy cell capacity and propellant tanks. In combat, the AI makes full use of its ability to sustain high G forces constantly, making it notoriously difficult to target with certain weapons systems. In flight, the Raptor's unusual silhouette is easily recognizeable and is a result of its ability to fold neatly into a roughly triangular package. League ships typically launch groups of six at a time from hexagonal linear catapults.
Type 12 Vesper
The Vesper is hard pressed to even meet the definition of a mobile doll. It can fit in any standard sized mobile doll slot just like a Raptor but is little more than an autonomous vertical launch system. Once engaged, the Vesper quickly unleashes its anti-mobile suit munitions. Such a torrent of firepower, even if it destroys nothing, is almost guaranteed to severely disrupt the coordination of enemy pilots.
Type 13 Fire Rat
A large unit that takes up a double triangular slot like two Raptors side by side. Its main purpose is to effectively equip energy intensive systems.

Fixed Systems
- 2x G3 Flash Fields (-2 power ea/turn)
Standard Loadout: 16
- Size 8 G3 Megaparticle Rifle (1x added upgrades; Accurized, Longshot, Piercing, High Caliber)
- 2x G3 Swarm Missile Pods
- G2 Plasma Blade
- G3 Mercurion Motor
The current mass-production model of combat frame in the Sagittan Union, the Undine is a modern design that can generally compare to the Iolaus or Medeas. The most notable feature of the Undine is the extremely heavy built-in flash field system. While too power-hungry for continued use, the Undine's onboard capacitor holds enough stored electricity to maintain the field at full strength during a combat assault on hostile warships.

Red Dogs
MS-12F7-RD Virago II Red Dog Custom
Unabashed of their SIA System War pedigree, the Red Dog mercenaries exclusively fly Virago II with red heads, shoulder and shield. Part of the reason they continue to demonstrate good results is that these, of course, are no longer your auntie's old Virago II's but pack modern composite armour packages and uprated high mobility components.
Tensor
A48 Lodion
Tensor Megacorp is one of the few non-state entities anywhere capable of sustaining its own mobile weapons development programs in a meaningful way. The A48 Lodion is a high performance suit manufactured exclusively for Tensor's own internal security forces and its morally suspect PMC subsidiary Blackgate.

The quintessential mecha of the early System War, the Virago II was by far the Space Independence Alliance's most heavily produced mobile suit and eventually offshot into a dizzying surfeit of variations and special purpose units. Thanks to its fundamental robustness, reliability and maintenance procedures purportedly less complex than the assembly instructions of its highest grade modelling kit, it remains in service on various minor worlds of the Verge. Ever short on resources, even the Neo-Jove organization that has developed all of the Virago II's successors have continued to employ this venerable machine in assymetric insurgency.

After major early successes in space failed to make a politicial impression on their opponents, the Space Independence Alliance seriously examined plans to invade Mars to force Earth into negotiations or Mars into a separate peace. The Jovians secretly designed a new machine dedicated to combat in moderate to heavy gravity and deployed it for the invasion. As a close quarter combat suit under gravity, the Coristrel proved superior in firepower and agility to the Virago II, though the combination of Martian dust and more complex parts such as its segmented "Ivy Blade" and the magnetic coating applied to its servos made it less manageable logistically.

Designed for a long range support role in ground combat the Carolean was a bigger, heavier suit with more reactor output and armour protection than either of its predecessors. Yet, its ground effect jets made it far more mobile - especially in open terrain. For this reason, the MS-14 reached serious mass production in the mid-war period and, among many other variations, become a main combat suit in its own right.

As the war progressed, the Virago-II was being hard-pressed against the improving Hylas models coming from the Lunar factories. Converting the Carolean - sluggish in space - was a relatively simple, low-risk affair that mainly involved replacing the hoverjets with conventional fusion motors. The chest-mounted scattering beam gun was also replaced by a plasma jet launcher. Within two month of introducing the ground-use Carolean, the a4 'Orbiter' variant was put into service to the great relief of the Jovian space forces. While having similar performance specs as the Virago-II, the Carolean Orbiter was much tougher - sufficiently so that the subsequent four months until the Solar Federation's introduction of megaparticle rifles was nicknamed the 'Carolean Summer'. The only downside was the Carolean family took up much more hangar space, noticeably reducing the effective complements of Jovian warships.

Overshadowed by the rugged Caroleans that came before it and the high-spec Knightress that came afterwards, the MS-15 Hussar was the final mobile suit of the Virago family. Produced mostly as a stopgap from existing production lines to ensure a steady stream of reinforcements while other factories were retooled to build the Knightress, the Hussar nonetheless achieved some success as an interceptor and superiority craft. Still considered to have a decent turn of speed even today, the Hussar is still a relatively common sight, often repaired with parts from Viragos or Coristrels. Probably the biggest weakness it has is its large thruster system is heavy and unbalancing under gravity, making it less than graceful.

A late war mass production unit, the Knightress was rushed into action in the aftermath of Saturn's defection when the strategic situation turned decisively against the Space Independence Alliance. Equipped with an integral chest-mounted beam cannon as well as an optional reactor-linked beam rifle, it handily overpowered any of the Hylas variants then in service. The unit naturally proved too little too late and most of them were destroyed in action. Those that remain operational in the Verge generally have little problem finding pilots however and the lineage of the design itself has been sustained and updated over the years by various iterations of Neo-Jove.

- MS-10 Virago - The first mass production mobile suit deployed in numbers but was considered a second line unit even at the outbreak of the System War. Examples are to be found in various museums and junkyards.

Fixed Armament
- Light Vulcan Array
External Equipment 6
- G1 Linear Rifle
The first mobile weapon developed entirely outside of the Sol system for Neo-Jove, the Tsun was a survival measure designed to be as simple as possible to produce and maintain with the limited resources available in the Verge. Thanks to its simplistic design, it has even had parts produced by fabricators aboard warships and assembled entirely in hangars. While earlier SIA mobile suits were also designed almost entirely for orbital combat, the Tsun was the first non mobile armour to entirely lack legs and any terrestrial combat ability. In orbital action, it proved a fast and nimble unit but was hampered by fragility and the indifferent performance of its linear weapons.
MS-21 Tervagen
The Tervagen was the high end mobile suit of the first Neo-Jove war and was built in small numbers to achieve local superiority in complement to the main forces composed largely of Tsun, Virago II and Knightress variants. The distinctly heavy set silhouette of the Tervagen quickly became feared as it handily outclassed the Hylas. And while the early mass production Iolaus could match it on paper, the Tervagen's limited distribution to only the best System War veterans meant that it almost always wrecked its SolFed counterparts in even encounters. An aleph use variant also existed. In the end, the strategic untenability of the invasion of Earth saw virtually all of them destroyed before they could evacuate back into orbit.

The main mass production unit of the later part of the first Neo-Jovian war. Produced in great numbers in Alpha Centauri (and used by them after the war). The Shield Maiden is heavily armed and armoured, and capable of transforming into a mobile armour mode for extra thrust. However outside of mobile armour mode it is a relatively sluggish. The production fabricators were evacuated from Alpha Centauri after the Alpha Centauri war, but appear to have been lost somewhere in transit.
MS-24 Brynhild
A variation/derivative of the MS-22, the monstrously overbuilt MS-24 was used solely by the Goto Faction's Brynhild Corps during the Second Neo-Jovian War, from which it acquired its name. Federation forces have been unable to confirm the destruction of all of these mobile weapons, though none have been seen since the war's end.

The MS-29 Marida is a direct evolution of the Solar War-era Knightress, taking advantage of a generation of improvements to reduce maintenance overhead and simplify production without sacrificing performance. While compared to the latest mobile suits entering SolFed service the Marida is not blessed with particularly impressive performance, it has forgiving flight characteristics and rugged dependability, making it popular with pilots and ground crews alike.
MS-30 Valkyria
While it has substantial internal similarties with the Knightress, the loss of many of the original foundry fabricators used in the Knightress line has led to substantial differences in the external layout. One of the most capable mobile suits in the Neo-Jovian inventory that exists in any numbers and normally assigned to veteran pilots. It is one of the few Neo-Jovian suits whose performance matches that of the Hercules II
