Appearance

Hot amazon is probably Amy's defining trope. She's nearly 6'4" and built like an athlete...with extensive plastic surgery. Every muscle is toned and defined, giving her a look similar to a swimmer or a pole vaulter, but she's also strikingly beautiful. Clear, golden-tanned skin, moderately well-endowed, a bright smile on a symmetrical face, and long brown hair that always looks to be styled just right, pointed ears poking out from underneath it for a good few inches. She's got scars almost everywhere on her body, long, deep, and somehow seeming like a natural part of her skin. Her skin is always glistening just a little, like being sweaty after a heavy workout.

Her outfits vary; lots of the expected stuff, tight workout clothes that show off as much of her body as possible, but more often she wears oversized T-shirts, always with something nerdy on it, whether a catchphrase or some logo or a character, baggy pants, and a brown double-breasted wool trenchcoat. Her shoes are red canvas hi-tops.

Amy's Mask has little to do with her mein...or anything, apparently. She's a little over 5', if that much. Mousy features and pale skin, her build still athletic but barely at all, with few clearly defined muscles. Her scars are still there, and a few lose the ignorable, pretty quality in favor of a more disfiguring look. Not at all fewer either.

Backstory

The youth formerly known as Alex Veeres been associated with the Lost longer than most Changelings have survived. After a chance encounter with someone fresh from the Heddge, he was ensorceled as a general gopher and errand boy for the Philadelphia freehold. His desire to be a part of this world was helped along no small amount by the fact that leaving a troubled home life to hang out with magic fairies is the coolest thing ever if you're as much a nerd as he was. Besides associating with younger members of the Freehold, his main point of contact was Emily, an Apollonian, and the one responsible for his ensorcelment. Athletics was never Alex's strong suit, but Emily invited him along on her various adventures, even going easy on him; bunny trails on skiing trips, shortening her hikes by about half so she can keep up...Nobody could say WHAT about Alex she liked, but she did. So there. Shut up.

Which did a fantastic job of backfiring when Emily's connection to the Wyrd grew powerful enough to affect her mind. To her, this was just another threshold to break through, which is not the attitude you want to take when your Clarity drops like a stone. Alex tried to stay by her side through this and defend her as best as a mortal can, but the Summer court was having none of this; she was a Betwixt, a threat to the Freehold, and had to be dealt with before she went Fae. What with the big sister complex, and the pledges made to her through the years, Alex felt compelled to tell her before it was too late. Seeing no other option, Emily came up with a cunning plan: Her mortal thrall always wished she could be as awesome as all of her Changeling friends were, though she learned early on that vocalizing this belief, and wanted some pretty radical changes to her body. Something about being a transsexual? Doesn't matter! She had a plan!

So the Freehold was no longer safe for Emily. Not a problem! She'd known for a long time now how to get to Arcadia, and did just that with Alex in tow, a pledge made: He sticks with her until the heat dies down in reality, and since they're already there she can use the place's crazy magic to make him a changeling, whatever kind he likes! It's perfect! Except how it wasn't. Almost as soon as they arrived, Emily started exploring every inch of the place's terrible glory, with Alex in tow. No longer going easy on him, every moment with her was like training from hell. And by "training," I mean being forced to keep up with someone of godlike agility and stamina as she climbs mountains of jagged glass, swims through lakes of acid, or hikes through a jungle of pure fire. His every failure and injury felt like it was in slow motion, repeated and emphasized to remind him of his failure. This was followed with a slow, grueling healing process that would leave him a little more Fae than last time, with no reassurance from his former friend besides "Get up, you pussy! You're fine! Why do I even bother with you?"

After years of this torture, Alex barely resembled his old self at all, his wish finally granted. Mostly. Barely even realizing she'd changed at all, so used to having to babysit her mortal thrall, she was able to escape simply by running away. Finding herself in Chicago, a phone call to her old friends caught her up: It had been three years. Philadelphia was no longer safe, either; her Fetch had become a Hunter for the sole purpose of terrorizing her old friends. Stuck in Chicago until he can be dealt with, the now-girl known as Amy is all alone, and in over her head. Be careful what you wish for, right?
