Background:
Mayumi's maternal family has tended to one of Hachiman's shrines for countless generations, going back to before the Warring States Period. The man she thought was her father was a fairly high ranking member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department.
Things progressed normally and within a few years of their marriage Mayumi came along. What they didn't know was that Hachiman had possessed Mayumi's father, attracted by her father's sense of honor and duty as a police officer as well as her mother's devotion to him and his shrine.
Mayumi had a fairly normal childhood, being good at both academic and athletic pursuits. At least until she found herself facing a group of Mikaboshi's Titanspawn one night on her way home from a high school graduation party.
Hachiman appeared and destroyed the titanspawn, informing Mayumi of the truth and giving her her birthrights before escorting her home. She soon found out that her elder cousin, the daughter of her mother's younger sister, was also a Scion, though of Tsuki-Yomi.

3 dot Guide (Mortal Cousin/experienced Scion of Tsuki-Yomi) = Soon after Mayumi received her visitation she was contacted by her elder cousin, who as it turned out is a scion herself. Mayumi's cousin has been a great help to her as she deals with being a Scion.
2 dot Relic, M9 Pistol (Seigi-no-Tetsuya) = The Seigi-no-Testsuya or Iron Arrow of Justice is a semi-automatic pistol, partially forged out of a shard of the Kusanagi-no-Tsurgi. The pistol never needs to be reloaded and allows Mayumi to channel the War purview. Like the Nihongo it was one of her birthrights given to her upon her visitation.
3 dot Relic, Nihongo = Mayumi was given Nihongo, one of the three Great Spears of Japan, upon her visitation. The Nihongo itself is a naginta with +2 damage and allows Mayumi to channel the Guardian purview.
1 dot Relic, Nihongo Pouch = It is rather hard to conceal the fact that you are carrying a naginta around with you, and so Hachiman gave his daughter a small pouch to hide it. While the pouch is small enough to fit in one's pocket, the Nihongo fits inside of it. The pouch can only be opened by Mayumi.
Animal 3: Onineko, Young Raiju (The Young Raiju appears as a regular tabby cat to mortals. To Mayumi and those with a legend rating it appears to be a cat with silver fur that constantly crackles with electricity, and glowing blue eyes. It's stats are identical to those of a small cat, with the addition of +1 to Strength and Dexterity, a Legend rating of 3, and access to the Storm Augmentation Boon).
While to this day she doesn't know how Mayumi somehow managed to impress Raiden, at least enough for him to complement her and give her Oninneko. She isn't quite sure if she managed to impress him, or if it is something else.
