Intended as the successor to the Puma and the Cougar, the Ocelot takes the lessons learned from battles against newer Zodiac MSes like the Hopilite and the Mega-Particle armed Sarissa, and implements them. Delivered to front line frame-teams upon rollout in 2188, the Ocelot proved to be a massive improvement over even the Cougar. While initially suspected of being slow and ungainly(and therefore MPG bait), the Ocelots large size and advanced miniaturization of its internals make it a highly maneuverable and deadly opponent, as many a Zodiac or Southie pilot found out. Skimping out on armor, the Ocelot mounted two of the Flash Fields previously used on the Black Bear, as well as an advanced power generation system incorporating multiple Forced Fusion reactors to power them with energy to spare. Its main armament was the new Mectron CFR-003 SAP Rifle, an advancement on the Synchronous Acceleration Beam Gun found on the earlier Black Bear, with an underslung Shotcannon. For the inevitable close-combat encounters, the Ocelot carried a Plasma Lance
Following the end of the war, the Ocelot gradually phased the Puma and Cougar out of active service, and now serves as the mainline Combat Frame of many PACT military forces. Current operators, as of 2195, are Corrigedor, São Galvão, Oceania, Theia, Van_Lang, the USASF, JSSDF, and Australian navy.

A dedicated Sarissa killer, the Ocelot Custom was a modification of the standard Ocelot for a single purpose: Sarissa killing. From the ground up, the Ocelot Custom's armament and defenses were remodeled to counter the Sarissa. Equipped with Triple Flash Fields, the Ocelot Custom could negate the armor-piercing effects of Mega Particle weapons, and with the purpose built CFR-004 Beam Rifle could fire on the Sarissa from beyond retaliation range. Two Plasma Lances rounded out the armament, giving the Ocelot Custom an edge in melee. Produced in time for the Battle of Rapture, many of the top PACT MS Aces were assigned to the Ocelot Custom.
The Cuttlefish is the first postwar mobile suit produced jointly by the Sydney Naval Research Institute and Indonesian Aerospace, and one of the very first transformable combat frames fielded by PACT. The design is heavily influenced by the Bear-series Assault Frames, notably using the same hardened actuators and optics array as the Red Bear, and features a mix of UNASUR and ASEAN-standard weapons.
The design is the brainchild of Australian aerospace engineer Ciaran Iwan, combining the features and structure of a light space gunship with the flexibility of a mobile suit. Essentially built off of the frame of the Bear-series, the unit was extensively reworked to incorporate a sophisticated movable frame and hardened power systems in order to effectively make use of cutting-edge Flash Fields. Designed for proactive defense and lightning raids, sweeping wings of Cuttlefish would form the spearhead of the pan-ASEAN space fleets in the later 2290's.
With the Red Bear's powerful Flash Field array and the CFR-002 beam rifle fielded on the war-era Cougar, the Cuttlefish is arguably a match for any postwar suit, capable of weathering mega particle beams and attacking units equipped with such weapons with a slight range advantage. It also carries a plasma knife and anti-missile array in order to fend off surprise attacks, but mostly depends on superior armored defenses and evasive ability in order to remain competitive in combat. Few units in the PACT arsenal can match the unit's sheer survivability, although it's not nearly the offensive powerhouse of the famous Ocelot Custom or powerful war-era Black Bear.
The unit shows extensive promise in future conflicts, but has often been described as 'sparse' and overspecialized by military analysts. Still, despite these criticisms, the unit has been widely distributed among ASEAN fleets and is a current mainstay of the Oceanian Colonial Militia.
