Word of Ignition: By speaking a word of undeniable power, Bryant inscribes an object with fire, wreathing it in flames. This is often his sword, which is specifically designed to best channel this effect using advanced forging techniques.
Law: Bryant must not draw his sword against someone, unless that person is a worthy opponent and actively opposing his goals, or inflicting suffering or undue servitude on another.
Eye of the Seeker: Opening an invisible eye where his mark would be, Bryant can scry on objects or people, remotely viewing them and becoming aware of where they are in relation to him. The farther a person is from him, the more vague his information is, and he requires some object connected with the person or place to attempt it (conversely, he can plant a specially prepared idol on the person, which he can 'anchor' his perceptions to.
Law: Bryant must never challenge the authority of someone who is proven to be in the right, in both letter and spirit.

Run in with a Third-Rate Alchemist. (1) Sure the potion worked wonders, but being able to only tolerate well-cooked meat barely edible grains (without being sick afterwards) is a major downside in a world of unresponsive cooks.
Isidore Akritas

The once grand armies he commanded have been defeated. The subjects of his former realm scattered across the world. Perhaps he seeks some kind of redemption. Or perhaps he seeks a second chance for himself and his people.
