*'''Predicted Fire''': The Predicted Fire trait on a weapon allows a ship to fire out to double its normal range at half its dice. If combined with Spot Fire, the weapon can use full dice.
*'''Spot Fire''': The Spot Fire trait on a weapon allows a ship to use targeting data from a friendly ship so long as the spotter is within six spaces of the target and the target could normally be fired upon. I00thlurker Retcon Proposal

  • Predicted Fire: The Predicted Fire trait on a weapon allows a ship to fire out to double its normal range at half its dice. If combined with Spot Fire, the weapon can use full dice.
  • Spot Fire: The Spot Fire trait on a weapon allows a ship to use targeting data from a friendly ship so long as the spotter is within six spaces of the target and the target could normally be fired upon. Use the distance between the Spotter and the Target for the purposes of determining the effective range for gunnery.
  • Perhaps some weapons are better at point defense. Perhaps AMGs or QF Beams, for example, have TN6 to defeat incoming missiles vs. the normal 8.

Rearrange Antiship Lasers and Fort Lasers into three categories: Ray Beams, High-Intensity Vector Beams, Quick-Fire Vector Beams.

  • Ray Beams: Massive beam emplacements or spinal arrays far too powerful to use vectoring and thus relying on mechanical aiming. Base TN 5 plus the target's Initiative value (may not be able to hit some ships at all). +Predicted Fire +Spot Fire. Range 4-15.
  • HI Vector Beam: Main battery of Ships of the Wall, too powerful for snap vectoring. Can spot fire. Base TN 5 plus the target's Initiative value up to 9. +Predicted Fire +Spot Fire. Range 2-10.
  • QF Vector Beam: Ubiquitous, basic anti-ship bendy beams. Frequently the main armament of Frigates and Cruisers. Base TN 6. Range 7.
