They are enchanted to be extremely sharp and to act as a focus or channel for Bethica's spells.
Background:
Bethica, or Beth to her friends and family, is a young Beastfolk mage who makes her living by traveling and trading. Most of her family are mages or traders themselves, though their are a few working for the Houses. The enchanted long knives she uses to fight were actually a gift from her grandmother, the most powerful mage in the family. Rather then deal in bulk goods and the like, which she doesn't have the means to transport on her own, she instead trades in luxury goods and small magical items.
She is a fairly powerful mage and a competent enough fighter, using a pair of long knives and some other knives/daggers, to defend herself when needed.
